Speak to acas

Being candid the ACAS advisors you get on the phone are generally not that helpful, especially if you don’t know your own case and potential claims well. There are so many resources online about employment law and how to protect yourself as an employee - including on Tiktok if you prefer videos to reading. If you really are desperate to keep this job, or at least protect yourself from being sacked without a good exit package, recommend beginning to document everything and do your research.

I think it’s odd to recommend someone use TikTok rather than an actual employment union

A union is a great idea if OP is a member! My point is there is a lot of research you can do yourself including accessible formats like videos, and people look to ACAS for help when their help is generally not useful for most people.

SCOPE are probably better theit website/helpline.
They have a lot on reasonable adjustments.
Also speak to your union.
And document/keep records of everything that happens

Did you have the condition prior to starting your job but just didn't tell them during the interview process etc?
wernddupress@reddit
You mention you asked for adjustments due to your mental health. Does that include a lesser salary for a lesser workload ? Or you want the same money for less work ? Just asking for a friend….
Calm_Reality3341@reddit (OP)
Nothing about workload and salary.

You employer said your adjustments were reasonable, but you have obviously asked for something different within the organisation that was not previously available. You are very vague - if you are a check out worker at Tesco and have a bad hip, perhaps your suggestion was that you are unable to sit on check out for 3 hours and could you do just 2 hours. This may seem reasonable in your particular case, but there are however many thousands of other workers that have to work the 3 hour shifts. Whatever you have requested is outside the normal standard practice and therefore not something that the company was previously offering to employees and as a business, they had built their financial expenditure on whatever it is was that you were previously doing that you now want to be adjusted.
Perhaps you could go into more details as to what you felt was a necessary adjustment to your role to suit your health condition and then the community may be able to offer better advice
KinkyLittleParadox@reddit
Are you aware of disability laws?
SquareBondageDuck@reddit
Just trolling you. Ignore it. I have workplace adjustments and do more work because of them! How long have you worked for your employer?
HistoryDisastrous493@reddit
Guessing you work a fairly low level/menial/non-professional job from that comment. Asking for reasonable adjustments is perfectly normal in professional settings
SquareBondageDuck@reddit
Where did the person say those adjustments involved less work.
zephyrthewonderdog@reddit
Too many possibilities/ variables. Are the adjustments permanent or temporary? Did the employer know about them when you started? Have you only recently become unwell? Can you still do the actual job? How long have you been there? How much will the adjustments affect the company?
Something low cost and temporary that means you can do your job is different to a substantial change in your working arrangements. Not saying you don’t need it, but your employer might have decided it’s cheaper/ easier/ better for them if you go. You may suddenly discover you have become incompetent at your job.
Speak to your union or call ACAS.

Make sure you keep evidence, and then if it carries on speak to ACAS
