Recommend An EBike for Me

I first posted in this sub a couple months ago to find an ebike for my wife. https://www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/comments/1s9nwq9/gazelle_ultimate_t10_burley_trailer/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Just as I expected, she loves it, and I've become incredibly jealous of her fancy new Gazelle Ultimate T10+ and am now eyeing up one for myself so once again coming to this community for feedback.
Here's my wish list:
- Budget - $5-6k
- Battery 500W+and will work as a mule
- I'll be pulling a burley trailer with two very solidly built kids
- MTB styling
- 90% of this is ego, for the money, I just want something somewhat cool
- 10% capability - have MTB trails around and would like to find out the hard way that I don't know what I'm doing there.
- I think of myself as athletic, even though I'm a dad approaching 40
- Crossbar height that makes the "Kids Ride Shotgun 2.0" usable
So far I've identified a few that seem to fit the bill -
- Salsa Notch Deore 12 - Top End of Budget, Carbon Frame, 500W
- Gazelle Modeo T10+ High Step - don't love the styling but on closeout at $2775
- Cannondale Moterra 4 - 600W, Hydraulic Brakes (+ for trailer stopping)
- Salsa Notch Cues 10 - Similar to Deore, Al frame ($1k cheaper than Deore) 500W
- Orbea Rise LT H20 - Top end of Budget, 630W battery
Thanks so much in advance for any advice, feedback, or pointers.

tern cargo.

Nice bike, but that wouldn't accomplish much of anything on the list above
DarkVoid42@reddit
its literally built for hauling kids, towing stuff and carrying cargo.

I appreciate it but not what I'm looking for. I have a tandem burley trailer already and am looking for a mountain bike style bike with a crossbar high enough to where I can use our "Kids Ride Shotgun" option as well
DarkVoid42@reddit
kids riding shotgun on a bar high up off the ground on offroad terrain where your centre of gravity really matters for stability ? ok chief.

I'm not downhill racing with my kid up high, chief. I'm riding around the neighborhood. The whole point of my question was to find a bike that accomplishes multiple roles.
DarkVoid42@reddit
easy. no such bike exists because physics. move on.

I'm not seeing it that way based on other reading I'm doing. Just looking for a MTB type ebike that can pull a trailer lol.

Velotric Nomad 2X (750 watts, 105 Nm of torque, can tow 1,000 lbs!!). Velotric Summit 2 (MTB style, 750 watt motor with 100 Nm of torque)

I'm pretty new to secene but if laws allow it I'd recommend getting a stronger motor if ur going to be pulling ur weight and the kids. I know on my I can barely reach to 25 and I'm 240. Now mine was incredibly cheap at 400. But I also only have 500w seems like u got it though

Right on - that's one of the pieces I'm not 100% sure on. I know the battery supplies the energy and the motor supplies torque to get moving. I like the mountain bike style, but hoping they'll have sufficient power to handle towing. I would assume so since a couple of the models have the Bosch Performance Line motors. The Salsa Deore & Cues, as well as the Cannondale Motera have the Bosch Performance Line CX. The Orbea has a proprietary battery but is larger capacity.
Just off of specs I'm leaning towards the Salsa's. The Cues has a 500W battery and is compatible with an extender and has 85Nm max torque which seems to be on the high side. My wife's Gazelle has a similar power output and it feels like it's more than enough.

Well if it doesn't work out there also selling it and trying again.moutain bike witch is the one I have if I pedal with it I can climb any hill but the motor alone won't get me up the steep hills. I'm still rather new to this whole scene. But if ur pulling stuff and having passengers I'd really go ahead and get a higher watt. Watch out though make sure ur battery can keep up with higher watt or it could blow ur battery and moter.
