40/50 let’s fight about Duke and UNC and the color blue. Unrelenting North Carolina positivity.

This is our newest unrelenting positivity post.
The state in question is the great state of North Carolina.
To all our foreign friends give a shout ask questions send praise. To our Americans do the same.
Ask questions, share stories, make jokes. Just remember not to be a jerk.
Recall the famous phrase my grandma invented “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything that isn’t redemptively funny.”
Stay tuned for 41/50 after this one. We’re coming into the home stretch.
The states are in random order based on my whim at the moment. Today’s whim is the fact that I don’t remember much from age 3-4.

The northwestern Appalachian counties had some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, everyone just seemed so happy to talk to me :) Also all the restaurants serve Cheerwine and all the gas stations have it in glass bottles or in fountain.
Stone Mountain State Park is better than our national park… I hope that’s a compliment
Carowinds is sick! I wanna go back
Incredible public-access golf in and around Pinehurst
UNCW has good taste in school colors

Carolina Blue is past tense for Carolina Blows.

One of the original 13 colonies, and home of the Biltmore Estate

My kiddo starts UNC in the fall.We are Carolina Blue here.
We live in the mountains. Beautiful, but so sick of rain.

Cheerwine, Krispy Kreme, Cook Out, Bojangles, and Biscuitville all started in NC and are all delicious. Even if you skip their great BBQ, which you should not skip, you can eat really well in NC.

Also Duke was almost in Hillsborough, NJ weirdly enough

I do not know this lore?

Home grown so I’m biased but Great Smokey Mountain National Park is truly one of the most beautiful places in the country. It’s very tourist heavy in the fall but there’s nothing else like it.

Appropriating Tennessee culture… how dare you?

Now I gotta give a shout out to Seagram's Gin...'cause I drink it, and they payin' me for it...
CupBeEmpty@reddit (OP)
Seagrams was not my friend for the last ten years. It’s still not but I have made some boundaries.

Best state in the nation baby. It's home!

It’s home. I grew up there and it will always be home. And I’ll always bleed Carolina Blue.
Beautiful state. Great people. Great food.
Shout out to Parker’s BBQ.

The BBQ is amazing. The beaches are nice and the water is warm. The mountains to the west are incredible. NC has blue ghost fireflies and synchronous fireflies in the mountains. Blue ridge parkway is one of the most beautiful scenic routes to take. Venus flytraps are native in a small portion of the state.
It's such a diverse and beautiful state.

OBX is one of the coolest places in the world
dhrisc@reddit
I saw some wild carnivorous plants the last time I visited!
GhostOfJamesStrang@reddit
NC is high on my list of favorite states to visit. I love the variation from the mountains down to the OBX and everything in between.

Truly a beautiful state. Mountains and beaches. Good BBQ, great universities, and good people.
