World Cup Bars/Cafes

Hello! I WFH and was hoping to catch some World Cup games during the day while bringing my work laptop. Does anyone know of any cafes, coffee shops, or more low key bars that are work friendly and usually play the games?
Looking for somewhere with decent WiFi and not too party heavy during daytime hours. Thank you!

Peticolas will have the games on and will likely be pretty calm during the day (unless it's a US or Mexico game)

Venues are not authorized to play games unless they get permission from FIFA. Operators had to register and be approved and presumably pay a fee to show the games. FIFA didn’t make it easy. Dallas already paid to host the games and they wanted to extract more money from the venues that show the game. Agree with calling ahead. Don’t know how they will enforce smaller bars and cafes. Probably will have contractors sending C&Ds to these business when they check.

Sorta. A regular restaurant bar can show the games if they aren’t charging a ticket for entry, haven’t advertised, aren’t using World Cup or other trademarked terms to promote that they are showing games. If it’s business as usual, it’s fine. Hosting parties, having sponsors, charging admission or using any of the trademarks will get you in trouble with FIFA.

The Londoner in Addison will likely do this.

I’m not sure what the crowds will be like at any bars during the World Cup. However, City Tavern has many TVs and they are adding at least one TV to their outdoor patio that resides on Elm Street. On Fridays they have an $9 burger and fries lunch special.

Buffalo Hirsch in Lewisville will have games on as well. I think mostly Team USA

Try Frankie's. They usually have decent lunch traffic but things die down after lunch hour

And they have the BEST wings

Most coffee shops around here won't have the games on unless you ask them to switch it, but there's some sports bars that are pretty chill during day hours. I'd try the more casual spots that have good wifi - they usually don't mind if you set up with laptop as long as you're ordering drinks. Just call ahead and ask if they'll have the games on, saves you the trip.
