Do you think genies fart or are they just wind below the waist anyway?

Silly question really but me and my colleague spend WAY too much time debating this.

It's traditionally accepted that genies appear out of a lamp propelled by some sort of wind-source which winds around them mystically below the waist while they get on with the business of granting wishes.

What is that wind?

My colleague believes it's mystical propellant synonymous with the genie's career role as a magician and he has a seperate outlet for flatulence.

I'm not convinced. I'm reasonably sure genies are propelled by their own noxious gases which they use to move from place to place granting wishes while low-key and permanently crop-dusting the lucky lamp finder with farts (and probably take great amusement in this endeavour).

Anyway to settle the debate once and for all...what does AskUK think based on our general understanding of traditional genie tropes and 9-year-old approach to toilet humour?

Magical wind below the waist with a seperate outlet for farts...or a permanent supply of fart used as a fuel? And if the latter would that suggest that farts are magical entities?

🤔
