I feel like this is a safe and supportive community, so I’m going to share that for 28 years of watching the dude say it, I still don’t know what a cleft asshole is. Is that like a cleft palate? How does Knox’s behavior reflect this disability?

Honestly, after 28 years of repeated viewings myself I don’t know exactly what a “goldbricker” is. A “gold-digger” sure, but we know that The Dude’s ass is “goldbrickin’” and not “digging”. I honestly think it’s just a word The Dude and company use which, while it may not have a specific definition, just somehow sounds right for the point they’re trying to make.

And while he is just a friend of Maudie’s… somehow then concept of a “cleft asshole” just seems to fit our favorite video artist.

I just sort of instinctively thought goldbricker was some manner of fraud. Like a sandbagger, but worse. I get your point but I think there’s more to this. I suspect that at some point in the dude’s life he actually came across a person who suffered from a cleft asshole, and that experience shaped him. Knox was just giving big cleft-asshole energy and the dude called him on it. Truth to power and whatnot.

If a cleft palette means the bridge between the two holes in your face (sinuses and mouth) is cut/cleft leaving one hole, I would imagine a cleft asshole is a situation in which one’s taint has torn itself into a human cloaca situation in which the dick hole and butthole have become one.
