Looks like a coachbuilt Model X. Like, if Pininfarina made this, sure, they'll sell maybe 5 at 1 million a pop, but as a Ferrari... damn. Especially as an EV, the Taycan is so much more appealing.
Why on gods green earth would we let the Americans do the infotainment (unless youre including CarPlay & android auto, in that case absolutely leave it to the Americans)
I mean both Google and Apple are very much American, and the rest of the American infotainment stuff is about as good as other makes, with some good and bad exceptions
Why can’t designers figure out that people who want a Ferrari that looks like a Ferrari not a Ferrari that looks like a Tesla. Same reason the EQS bottomed out. People love big chauffeur style cars with long trunks and hoods. They think they’re fancy. They want a S550 with an electric engine, not a shrunken mess of a plastic looking futuristic car thing
Because the people who can afford a Ferrari are going to buy this, the people who don't have a chance of owning a Ferrari see going to complain about it. It was the same with the newBMW i3, complaining on Reddit but sold out all over Europe. Also, the same with the iX3. It is going to be the same here as well.
“If you don’t like something it means you’re not rich enough to have an opinion and it bothers me that you do anyway”
These topics are weirdly consistent at getting people with laughably gross personalities to announce themselves. I can assure you, there are plenty of Ferrari owners who have opinions outside of your limited comprehension
In today's world of 3 screens slapped on as gauge cluster, center screen/infotainment, and a random 3rd somewhere else, this Ferrari's interior is very, very nice. Blends analog elements (like gauge needles) over digital screen in actual cutouts. Well designed tactile buttons/switches, hand controlled air vents, etc. Center screen is tiltable with additional cutouts for the clock. Exterior is horrible, but interior is excellent
Watched MKBHD video last night. He did a pretty good walkthrough of the interior, and at least per him, the gauges are actual cutouts with a screen background, but analog components, like the needle. I think that's a cool middle ground to have customization but some digital things just won't ever look as good, like a physical, moving tach needle
Nothing. for some reason plebs seem to fixate on Mazda as this ethereal car manufacturer, despite them being absolute rubbish. I am someone who adores old mazdas too. The glaze is misguided.
I don’t mind them taking risks, but they’ve somehow made it look strikingly similar to Honda’s recent design language.
If you replaced the Ferrari badges and told me this was the new Honda e-Max with 170hp and 400 miles of range, big brother to the Honda e and starting at €50k, I would believe you and tell you I like it.
However for literally half a million euros with a Ferrari badge I will politely say not for me.
I don’t really understand it as a direction. Maybe this would have even been a good candidate to revive the Dino brand if they shed several hundred thousand from the price.
When I look at the 12 cilindri, I might not be too impressed with the design. But it’s a car for other people, people with absurd amounts of money, who will display and use it in places and situations where my mere presence would raise alarms and eyebrows. My opinion doesn’t matter, and I’ll probably never will se one in the flesh, where it will look and feel a lot better.
But the Luce looks like a car I could afford. It’s not too special. Like a bit bolder VW ID or Hyundai. Lots of plastic, by the looks of it. But it costs hundreds of thousands of euros. Which feels insane, for what it is.
I’m far from the intended market, and I’m sure those that can afford it have reasons I can’t begin to imagine for buying it. Can’t help wondering how many of them have dreamt about specifically a Ferrari in this segment, at this price point, and had hoped for an oddly sexless ives-designed half-futuristic, half-retro, aggressively appliance-like vehicle like this.
24” wheels???? When does this insane hot wheels ass wheel enlargement trend end?? At this rate cars are gonna end up looking like 19th century carriages with 4ft tall wheels again
Between this and the ugly “modern” push/pull block houses I just am so disappointed with design lately. It’s like the stuff I’d draw when I was a kid. It feels like the intentionality has been stripped out and you’re just left with something that is butchered for mass market appeal.
Even in his heyday he disliked Ferrari road cars. I can't imagine what he would think if he saw this thing now. Probably sell his entire share of the company.

The crazy thing to me is the body shape - I don’t entirely hate the design but if they’d refined the front and made it a low, wide-body chassis then it would look at least half-way towards a Ferrari and the interior would still look great.
At the moment it looks to be the same proportions as a hatchback, and if I had almost half a mil to drop on a car I wouldn’t be giving this a second look.

I think I get Ferrari’s goal: here’s an electric for you to drive around daily while your “real” Ferraris get serviced or are parking lot queens. Or an electric for your wife.
It’s not an electric Ferrari replacement. Think daily driver for those who already have a Ferrari
It's just a purity test to separate Ferrari buyers into normal people and subservient fanatics to whom Ferrari will sell anything in exchange for permission to buy the next F40 remake.
the front and rear styling feels more futuristic than beautiful, almost like they prioritized aero and EV packaging over classic Ferrari curves, i’d cross check early opinions on bing and carced.com
I'm beating a dead horse by joining the pile-on, but have to agree it doesn't scream Ferrari to me. It'd probably be awesome if this were a Smart or some obscure EV taxi brand, but it for a >$500k Ferrari, I'm not sure quite sure it hits the nail on the head.
I feel the same way about these as I do the 2005 mustang. Hated it when it first came out. I will most likely love it especially if the prices tank like all other ev's.
Why do legacy automakers just completely abandon their design language when they create an EV? And then wonder why people don’t want it? The net new EV makers can do it because this IS their design language but if I want a Ferrari EV I want it to look like a Ferrari not a Hyundai or a BYD
Some dude just trying to get a good Ferrari allocation has to choke back one of these eyesores. Be wishing for the good old days of romas and californias.
This is unequivocally the biggest POS Ferrari has ever launched. It literally has 0 redeemable or admirable qualities whatsoever.
Don't need to say much on the looks, its hideous. The proportions are all off because its electric and has a battery in the floor (runs into the same problem as the new BMW i3 where its too narrow). Looking at the rims make me want to gouge my eyes out. Those 5 spokes belong on a Pimp My Ride Chrysler 300 from the early 2000s, to the point where I'm almost surprised Ferrari doesn't let you option it with spinners from the factory. The fitment of the wheels is terrible, it makes the car looks like its on stilts (made worse by the black trim surrounding the wheel wells).
There's a reason Apple booted Jony Ive and their products IMMEDIATELY got better (new Macbook Pros got ports back and weren't obsessed with being thin). Ferrari should have learned their lesson
All this could've been forgiven, if it was a good performer. But no, its 600k, quad motor, only 1000hp (crazy thing to say) and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Sounds fast, but it gets spanked by literally every one of its EV performance competitors (Model S Plaid w/ track pack, Taycan Turbo GT, Lucid Air Sapphire). If it had a V8 or V12, that would differentiate it in the market, but since they went electric, all EVs deliver the same driving experience.
The Plaid especially is 5 years old now and you can get a track pack version for 1/10th of the price of this turd. It will look better, have better technology, have more range and far more power.
Kind of reminds me of the rumoured Apple car, and speculation back in 2021 of who would they partner with etc. I remember many looking in to (now bankrupt) GOEV (Canoo) as a most likely fit.
Or literally as is mentioned in the article, totally Apple Car vibes like was rumored back in 2021. Although at the time I thought they were going to partner with GOEV/Canoo.
Looks like a part of the Honda Urban Concept family. This one has the rounded taillights instead of the round headlights. Super generic looking otherwise.

But if it said Volkswagen or Honda on the front, I'd say "Ooo neat" and then proceed to probably not buy one anyway.
ShahSafwat_1488@reddit
I dont hate it, yea it doesnt look like a ferrari but it doesnt look bad tho
DV_Zero_One@reddit
Even men are shaving their pubes these days. I can see why Ferrari felt the need to enter the manscaping market.

monkfishbandana@reddit

Liam_M@reddit
Why do legacy automakers just completely abandon their design language when they create an EV? And then wonder why people don’t want it? The net new EV makers can do it because this IS their design language but if I want a Ferrari EV I want it to look like a Ferrari not a Hyundai or a BYD

Sharp_Project_2585@reddit
Might be the worst car Ferrari has ever made.
