Curious if anyone watched The Boroughs on Netflix?

I don't watch much TV these days, but I decided to load up Netflix and see what looked good.
I landed on this show, mainly because the topic was around a 60+ retirement community out in the desert. Considering the age of many of us, this is something that is on a lot of minds.
I really loved the first two episodes, seeing someone adjust to the community, come out of his shell, make new friends and feel like he belonged for the first time in a long time.
The show is labeled as 'sci-fi' and there is a ton of sci-fi stuff in the show. I can't be the only one who felt kinda disappointed by this...I really just wanted them to focus on the community and focus on the drama and life of living in a 60+ retirement community!
I can't think of any show that covers that type of content and it feels like they missed a big opportunity to educate the world about life after 60 and how joyful it can be...plus I am really curious about living in a place like this in the future and wanted to learn more about it (even though it's just a TV show and I realize its only semi-realistic).
Anyone else have similar thoughts?
