Is it weird to go to the farm with family as a teenager?

My school were talking about doing a school trip to the farm and everyone in my year complained, so it never happened. My mums mentioned about going to the farm tomorrow and no young kids will be going with us. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it but idk if farms are too “kiddy”, I haven’t been to one in like 10 years

I went to the farm with my kid and saw a mate same age as me with his mum. You’re never too old to feed some animals
Own-Try1886@reddit
There will probably be baby animals there right now. You cannot turn that down no matter what age you are.

If you enjoy it then don't worry about what anyone else thinks. I'm in my late 30s and me and my dad still do fun trips out to places like that
lovemycat02@reddit
Better question why are you worried about this in the first place?

Hes a Teenager and needs to be cool

I remember my therapist saying once how after 35 years working as a councillor for the NHS, he had yet to meet a single teenager that wasn't insecure about themselves/extremely self conscious about what people thought of them.
It's pretty much a right of passage that we all have to go through.

The farmer would very much appreciate your custom.

I mean some farms are aimed towards children for sure, but there are still lots of things you can do usually that are appropriate for any age, such as feeding and petting the animals. Some farms make home made ice cream which is always a treat. Fresh farm food shop? Awesome! Talking to the people working there and getting an idea of what it's like to work on a farm, great conversation to have.
Absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying it.

Mate... Here's a lesson that most of us probably learnt way too late in life.
It really doesn't fucking matter.
Do you want to go to the farm and see the animals? If yes, then go and have fun. It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
I missed out on so many fun days out when I was a teenager because I was too worried about what people would think of me. "I'm too old to get excited about going to the zoo", "Funfairs are for little kids", "ugh why would I want to go to the cinema with my little brother".
I'm 29 and have only just learnt to stop caring about whether others will judge me for this shit.
If I take my two kids to the farm and theyre getting the baby bunnies out for people to hold, you can bet that I'm stood in that queue as excited as my 8 year old daughter to hold that bunny. They're cute as fuck, really soft and there hasn't been a single time where I've held/cuddled a fluffy baby animal and I haven't left feeling happier afterwards.
Genuinely why does it matter whether it's "too kiddy". Teenage years are rough but try to enjoy it whilst you can.

In years to come, you might think that you're currently going through the teenage "embarrassed by everything" phase.
It's a tough time because you're half way between childhood and adulthood and you get paranoid about seeming immature.
In a couple of years time, it won't even bother you.
Vladamir_pootinn@reddit
wtf, shut up, no. I will go with your mum if she wants? Can’t promise il have her back by 10 though
Puzzled-Barnacle-200@reddit
I'm 27. I have no kids. I love going to farms and zoos.
Lanesra8989@reddit
Stop worrying about what people think , you cannot go through life like that …. Please , Be your own person in your life
AlpacaPicnic1@reddit
I took my kids to the farm today. There was a group of people in their 20s there, no kids with them, having a lovely time feeding and petting the animals.
DonBenson@reddit
Why are you worried about doing something you enjoy? Especially when it's with someone who cares about you.
HighwayEconomy579@reddit
Spend time with your family while you can, they won’t be around for ever.
Potential_Ask5513@reddit
So take a trip to a farm where you could make memories because your school friends complained at school.
Screw em go with your mum it will make her happy, you will enjoy it and you make memories that will last a while this is the stuff people are supposed to do.
Crunchie64@reddit
Sounds like a great day out to me.
Only if they have ice cream, obviously.
Familiar-Candidate-7@reddit
I have a friend who goes to feed the lambs every year for her birthday, She is 48 and no kids. Don’t worry what others think go and have fun
West_Supermarket1724@reddit
If you want to go then go, believe me you’ll regret it later on if you don’t
PigneySnoo@reddit
It's not weird.
It's a farm. The farm is literally run by adults. There's no age limit on it. If you want to go, go.
throwawayhandbag23@reddit
No they’re not too kiddy they just don’t provide the cheap thrills teenagers are normally susceptible to. I wouldn’t care what anyone else thinks if I were you.
Illustrious_Bus8440@reddit
No. Thats an awesome day out.
As you get older, you will look back and cherish the memories of days like this, I promise.
Get yourself to that farm with your family.
Obscure-Oracle@reddit
There is nothing childish about a farm! Who cares what people think, do what you enjoy!
sully-_-420@reddit
It sounds like you would enjoy going. I say go for it
h_424@reddit
I'm 21 and I went to the farm with my friends. Wouldn't count it as being too kiddy tbh. If you love the outdoors or if you're like us we don't mind the outdoors however if it's a nice sunny day we aim to do outdoorsy meet ups rather than the usual arcade, bowling, cinema, indoor golf. Sadly when we went it wasn't in season to do fruit picking.
0riginalcomment@reddit
Ah, I will wouldn’t worry about it, you’re entitled to do as you please to some extent. Softplay with the teenagers? Maybe a bit sketchy. Farm? Totally fine.
To give you an idea my parents won free tickets to Lego land and me and my partner tagged along with them. We were 27 at the time.
eclipse150@reddit
Who cares? If you like it, you like it. I’m 41 and think community farms are brilliant and deserve all the support they can get
snowmanseeker@reddit
No it's not weird.
It doesn't matter what other people think, if it's a harmless activity that you enjoy.
