Network card replacement

I have a b550 mortar WiFi, and im pretty sure the network card has stopped working so I bought a new one to replace it and now im wondering if thats even possible? The io shield is like integrated to the motherboard and the pcie slot at the bottom isn’t one for a network card, thanks.

if your integrated wifi has stopped working you can add a pci-e card into one of your open pci-e slots. typically you would have a short slot under a full-size one but you can install a short card into any open pci-e slot, the system doesn’t care about having a smaller card in a bigger slot

Ahhh I got it replaced but I guess that wasn’t the issue :/ still no internet- on wifi or ethernet. I guess a driver thing maybe?
