First time buying a Gaming PC, need help!

Hi guys, this is my first time buying a gaming PC. I have a 27 inch 4k QD-OLED monitor and want to get the absolute most out of it which I can’t with my base PS5.
The PC that I’m thinking of getting is a AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Nvidia RTX 5080, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, 850W PSU, Windows 11, Liquid Cooling, V100R. Or should I save some money and go for the 5070ti? I know they both have the same VRAM so I’m not sure if I’ll see some real world upgrades, but I’ve also heard that the 5070ti might bottleneck with the 9800X3D.
I’m mostly gonna be playing games such as Elden Ring, God of War, TLOU and also multiplayer games like Minecraft and GTA.
Any replies appreciated!

I tell you what some people don't half talk some utter 💩
5080 you are throwing away a few hundred pound for absolutely no reason. Spend it on your kids and family...
It will struggle in the exact same scenarios a 5070Ti will, or even lower price a 9070XT will. Its totally pointless. Yes it will squeeze out 15% more base FPS but that isn't enough to change an experience which means you need the exact same help with frame gen or upscaling. End result = little to no real world difference in the cards in terms of perceived experience.
You don't realise this until you try all the cards in the real world, you see a review or benchmark or what people here say who don't have a clue and think you're getting something substantial, you won't be.
Only 5090 is clear daylight at a ridiculous premium 5080 is a card for people that don't do their homework properly.

Yeah fairs, I do hear it tbf. The performance jump is only 15% and to spend £300 more just for that might not be worth it, especially in this economy!
Sumeung-Gai@reddit
You said you want to get the absolute most out of it? Then you get the highest spec you can afford...
Sumeung-Gai@reddit
including the Hz of your monitor would be useful info also.

240hz

You think a mid range GPU, such as the 5070ti, is going to bottleneck the fastest gaming cpu in the world, the 9800x3d? Where did you come to this conclusion?
vedbtw@reddit (OP)
Sorry if I was wrong but I just heard people saying bottleneck could be an issue with this combo. They might be wrong though!
Sumeung-Gai@reddit
The gpu would be the bottleneck in 4k or even 1440p AAA pathracing, is the only potential BN scenario. Get the 5080
AlexCiuc18@reddit
You are playing in 4K so CPU is not gonna be the limiter factor for sure.I would say get the 5080 cause it would suit you better in the long run for 4k and if you really wanna save some money do it on the CPU as you play in 4k.
Jman85@reddit
get the 5080 if you can afford it, it will be well suited for 4K, otherwise 9070xt or 5070ti.
hadtolaugh@reddit
Would definitely not consider the 5070ti “mid range”.
Sumeung-Gai@reddit
It is in fact midrange....as 70 series has always been. Expensive sure. 50 entry, 60 budget, 80 high end, 90 enthusiast or halo.
Jman85@reddit
It’s a mid range card. Doesn’t matter what you think
Protomesh@reddit
True. In the same sense 5060 is entry level.
psinguine@reddit
I was about to say, that's one hell of a take.

If you have the means, get the 5080. The CPU is one of the best right now
EllipsoidBP@reddit
If it doesn't hurt your wallet, get the RTX 5080. When it comes to 4K, you can't have too much power still. Depends on the games and settings of course, but even a 5090 can struggle.

Either GPU will be fine, it’s a top end CPU and GPU combo either way
