What do you think about Turkey's claims that even Crete belongs to them?

Lately I've noticed on X many bot accounts posting claims like this one. I've been on X/twitter many years but I've never seen such posts before. Turkey had an agreement with Indonesia to sell some aircrafts but the deal was cancelled last minute so that the aircrafts will be used by the Turkish government. Many military officials had annual leave booked which was cancelled and they were asked to return to their posts.
What do you guys think?
ATAKURT1453@reddit
is there anyone in the world bigger crybabies than the greeks? they spend all day browsing the turkish internet, finding posts from any absurd guy they can, just to use them to reinforce their schizophrenia about turks
Iapetus404@reddit
Feb 2020 Turkey sent thousands orks to our Boarders
June 2020 we had the Aegean naval crisis
Jan 2023 Erdogan: Not only can we, but we will come one night in Greece.
"We have no problem hitting Athens."
and also a map with halph Aegean sea as Turkish sea
......but yes pls talk about Schizophrenia.
wolfy994@reddit
It's shit stirring. What does the average Turk gain from Crete? It's still inhabited by greeks who want greek governing bodies. The turks who would want to move there can probably already do that.
So I guess just ignore this stuff?

Once there lives Greek speaking Muslims, the first group leave the island ca. 1897 to Syria, and the other group 1923 to Turkey.
wolfy994@reddit
Muslim isn't a nationality. Greeks can be muslim.
Early-Show2886@reddit
eee? da...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turk_(term_for_Muslims)
Turci was a common name for ALL muslims in the balkans...etc.
At that time, Muslims were simply referred to as Turks. During the Ottoman era, one was either a Christian or a Muslim. At that time, the Christians in the Balkans—as well as the Greeks—referred to Muslims as Turks, regardless of what language they spoke.
you called them all Turci or Tourkos etc.

That's just ridiculous. We all know it was Albanian.
casual_philosopher02@reddit
I mean what is the point of such a question being asked here other than to pit us against each other?

I think the Sun is a giant god, and we are its slaves. And börek is a universe of its own: the spinach is the civilization inhabiting that universe, and whenever we eat it, we commit an abhorrent crime against spinach-kind. Therefore, we should travel to Mars and collect rock specimens for Elon Musk so he can finally build a supercomputer that keeps my coffee permanently warm while corporations continue funding completely obsolete and failing infrastructure.
RasyonelRumi@reddit
Go to CNN Greece and check out the comments on Instagram where a Greek police officer speaks Turkish
blumonste@reddit
More people speak more languages. Nothing wrong with it. Right?

Greeks: A nation masturbates about their territorial losses for a milenium, fueled by hate
RasyonelRumi@reddit
One thing I genuinely don’t understand about Greeks is how self-entitled they can be while criticizing us for ultranationalism. On social media, I see more Greeks saying things like, We’ll reclaim Constantinople, and then they turn around and say, “You’re too nationalist,” bro chill out, even they literally forced Macedonia to change its name.
abki12c@reddit
Don't worry they don't want to take Crete, it's too far. But they do want to take Lemnos and other islands close to Turkey that are easier to capture, because last time Germans invaded Crete they had many losses
chrstianelson@reddit
It's not "Turkey's" claim. It's some random idiot on twitter.
Pretend-Technician64@reddit
Find some absurdly hypernationalist post on X → Post it here → Let hypernationalists fight about it
This sub is in dire need of reworked posting standards. Amount of these lazy posts is getting ridiculous at this point.
Neigebleu@reddit
Turkey is always threatening their neighbours. Isn't the state Kind of bankrupt die to Inflation? They can't start a war, they would literally starve to death because of food shortages.
Empty-Pace-4228@reddit
Turkey doesn't threaten any of it's neighbors?
Are you talking about trade deal with Azerbaijan against Armenia? Or ousting Assad which 80% of Syrians wanted to be gone and tried it since 1982 Massacre?
Those are not threats.
VagHunter69@reddit
"What do you thinks of this random ass guys opinion on Crete?"
NegotiationSweet5082@reddit
It's entirely a backlash from the Greek state's policy of trying to suffocate Türkiye in the Aegean and Mediterranean. Crete is very far from Turkey, but who cares? Given that the Greek coast guard has the audacity to come within 10 meters of the Aegean coast, what kind of reaction did you expect from Türkiye? Personally, I don't expect a war; these are just moves to raise the stakes and intimidate. Frankly, I wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't shared it. Still, I expect half the islands to change hands at some point. Their current state is absurd and only triggers crises.

Turkish nationalists claim Dodecanese, not even the most extreme ones claim Crete.
If having those islands was that important, Greeks would have been something like Las Vegas right now.

There’s bo such claim. Random twitter users don’t represent Turkey. Your post is misleading.

Not everyone who posts in Turkish is Turkish. ;)
Light0fDesire@reddit
yes, one X user shared that post and now it’s our national claim.
don’t be delusional, take your pills.
blumonste@reddit
There are those whose families used to live in Crete, those people might see Crete close to heart but that is it. Armchair/keyboard warriors don't matter. Don't take them seriously.
Young_Owl99@reddit
Turkey has no claim on Crete.
Weird fanatics exist in every country.

They are welcome to try
annuminasguard@reddit
Why people take serious about these mofos? Just ignore them dude, i also seeing a lot of stuff that greeks, armenians or iranians claim on turkey but i know that they are just delusional idiots.

Nobody claims that, even average joe
Catman_192@reddit
Who cares what random twitter users think?
Erozbey@reddit
There’s not much to think about. Just as the Megali Idea is a fantasy, so is this.
