But it weighs what, 5000lbs? And only makes that much downforce at top speed, probably near 200mph...

I daily a Etron gt and that thing is already wide af. Almost too wide for some European roads. I can’t imagine how terrible an even wider version would be in normal traffic. But fuck that thing looks sick.
DanGleeballs@reddit
Is it wider than a regular Taycan?
vier10comma5@reddit
No both cars are practically the same.
Jam_Bannock@reddit
They stand out as super wide to me in Canada too, especially in parking spots.
vier10comma5@reddit
Because they are. Only 5 cm less width than a ford expedition.

The real reason I wanna get rich is because I love so many different cars to own even half I need a lot of money.
A Widebody Porsche Taycan? Why? Because why not? I want it. Now actually.
KyledKat@reddit
The real reason is because Porsche has become the automotive equivalent of a luxury watchmaker. Fat rucking margins on “limited edition” models for the ask of making your repeat customers feel special.

Yes I hear you, it's not a porsche thread without some butthurt. But none of this applies to this specific vehicle.
MrReadilyUnready@reddit
Is that why you can get Taycan Turbo GTs with discounts?

I’m reminded of someone (Matt Farah? Doug DeMuro?) talking about how extremely expensive low production cars used to be rare and special whereas now there are several every year.
A carmaker can try to produce a relatively large number of $250K cars or make more profit by creating a small run of cars over a million bucks each beside the profit margins go up as the price goes up.
There are a few hundred billionaires that just buy one of everything. They don’t have to pick and choose, and they want to ensure their future allotments.

It was both of them, on the last Smoking Tire when Doug was guesting in December.

17" brake discs lol. Faster than the 918 spyder, thats insane. Although i think the 918 would still beat it if they timed again using the same tires.
inscrutablechicken@reddit
Incredible how fast it can go with standard power. If we've reached the limits of usable power then it's time to move onto downforce for bragging rights.

Yay?
