Had a crash and now my gears won't shift- advice?

Model is a Lectric XP 4.0, and this is my first bike so I'm a new learner! The crash wasn't too bad on me physically and was ready to get back on the horse, but it won't change gears at all. Right now the chain is on gear 5 while I'm set at gear 8. Plus when I push the lever to increase the gear, the lever gets stuck on the down motion. Would appreciate some info on fixing- can I do it myself or do I need to talk to a professional in person?

Those derailleur guards are more trouble than they're worth. Especially if your derailleur is attached to a hanger, which yours is. The purpose of the hanger is so that, if the bike falls on its right side, the replaceable $12 hanger gets ruined and not your frame, or the derailleur.
Start by removing that, and see if it shifts properly. If not, you can try adjusting it yourself, assuming the alignment is the problem, (super straight forward, look it up on Park Tools), or take it in to a bike shop and have them see what's up.

Pull forward on the bottom sprocket of the derailleur to relieve spring tension.
With enough slack, you should be able to move the chain onto gear 8.
Once you have the chain and derailleur on the same gear, the shifting will
probably start working, but may need adjustment after.

Remove the derailleur guard first and see if that helps. Looks like it is bent and hindering the derailleur movement. May need other adjustments as well.

Thank you! I'll try that first

If the above doesn't work you can reset, and index your rear derailleur quite easily, if you have a mount or stand where you can raise the rear wheel off the ground.

the guard did its job, OP shift the derailleur too fast to get the chain moving
