No idea why you’re being downvoted. If karma was real billionaires wouldn’t exist and a rapist felon wouldn’t have been elected to run the most powerful country in the world. Good people wouldn’t die from random illness or acts of violence, MLK or Lincoln wouldn’t have been assassinated, Putin would have died long ago, like there is so much that wouldn’t happen if people actually truly got what they deserve.

Not to disagree but again in a more metaphysical sense it's supposed to be applicable for this life and beyond, its more or less the "answer" and/or "solution" also to the vast inequality of life and the problem of evil. Good karma allots you a higher existence in next life, bad karma vice versa. But even that is not supposed to be the end all be all as eventually you're suppose to escape the entire cycle all together. Its more interesting than presented at face value, but it does sit cross with me that you're trying to explain suffering for example of a newborn wrought with cancer, with some previous life's punishment or comeuppance. Seems way too cruel to me. Oh well its just an idea out there, though current times is convincing enough to reject it.

Survivorship bias. Super succesful people often step on lots of others to get there, but saying the "more people you step on the farther you get in life" is just wrong. Maintaining respectful relationships and having a trustworthy reputation are highly valuable.

There is a lot of truth to this. But also a lot of bullies are people who have awful home lives.
I checked up on some guy who was awful to me. He had multiple DUIs, two divorces, and is currently sitting in jail for DV. Turns out thats also the kind of household he grew up in.
Dude was tall, conventionally attractive too. Could have done anything he wanted in life but he couldn't escape his own trauma.

Some years ago I got an invitation to my 10-year high school reunion. High school was not a lot of fun for me so I’d left and gone to college out of state as soon as I was out of there and not looked back.
I had no real interest in attending anyway, but looking at the invite destroyed any doubt. The organizers were the same kiss-ass popular rich kids who had always run everything back in the day. Even worse, on the back was a list of people who they didn’t have updated contact information for, and there were all my old friends. That shit went in the trash.

I'm still in contact with my closest friends from High School and talk to them daily over 10 years later. My classmates started a Facebook group, had the reunion on the richest classmate's family's land, and I blocked the person sending the invite as soon as I got it. They delayed it by a year because one of my classmates became a stripper, married a marine, went overseas, and they had to wait before they were both state-side again. I think only about 50 showed up. I didn't pay to go to any of the dances the entire time I was in High school, and I spent the time doing something I enjoyed. The happiest years of my life started after I graduated, and the people who tell you that high school is the happiest 4 years of your life say that because they've done nothing meaningful with the time they have.
