Defective or safe to use M855?

I have never seen marks like this before. Looks like a factory defect. All appear to be in the same lot. 2026 M855.
Should I send pics to the company and ask for new ammo or is it fine?

Never seen a primer crimp before?

Only a ring crimp

Hit it with your purse

I’ve bought 1000 round cases for 30+ years. Removed crimps from thousands of cases for reloads. Never seen that four slash crimp before. You could try to build up community instead of taking cheap shots.

I've bought at least 2k M855 and used them in the military and never seen this before either.

Oh yeah. I forgot all factory ammo is safe and never defective. Thanks

But you didnt know what a crime was... right....

Yeah. I did not inherit the genetic knowledge. My bad dude. I just had to learn about it through encountering it

It's a crimped primer. Here's some pic with several different types of crimps that a manufacturer might do. It's not a defect.

Thank you very much. Excuse my ignorance. I was aware of the ring crimp but I've never seen this before and must have handled a few thousand M855s. Appreciate the info.
