What do you think is the easiest game show hosting gig in the UK?

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Pointless? Tipping Point?
Definitely not The Chase imo. The way Bradley Walsh gets the questions out so quickly so often is impressive imo.
BuncleCar@reddit
I just don't like Walsh. I remember him from Minder and The Bill and he may be saintly but I have an aversion to East End geezer types.
HendoMGM@reddit
The Floor UK version.
Rob brydon just talks to the contestants duelling and then stands back.
jolie_j@reddit
Deal or no deal?
BriennesBitch@reddit
I think having to pretend to like the complete nutters who go on that show requires a certain amount of skill.
jolie_j@reddit
I’m considering applying 🤣 I’ve got a period of time off work coming up. I reckon the hardest thing about it would be standing through around 22 other games before yours. Otherwise, fairly easy £7k. Used to be £10k I reckon before they dropped the top prize.
Unemployable-Sunfish@reddit (OP)
Forgot about that, absolute skive of a job.
Omnissiah40K@reddit
Nah come on, you've got to fill an hour of small talk with some of the most boring people on the planet. Thats fucking graft and you know it.
Evening-Tomatillo-47@reddit
Aye it takes skill to pull all that numerology bullshit.
i7omahawki@reddit
No way, the whole game hinges on the host’s performance.
Tipping point is way easier, most of the work is done by the giant coin pusher.
Moppo_@reddit
That's not even a gameshow. It's just a waste of a studio.
jolie_j@reddit
But the contestants have a “strategy”…(!)
I can’t believe they cut the top prize too. Enshitification of an already shit show
vicartronix@reddit
I’d say that’s one of the harder ones. Having to chat that much fluff for ages
JuanitaMerkin@reddit
I suppose there’s an element of building the tension (with very little to work with) there that’s not present in a lot of game shows
jolie_j@reddit
Yeah I was thinking this. And remembering who had what colour number in a row (although I assume he’s got someone in his ear telling him that Susan has had a red 5 times in a row)
MembershipKey1520@reddit
Millionaire looks like a skive. Hosted by a millionaire, ironically, but Clarkson is far better than the unbearable Tarrant. He was such a smug tw*t.
perishingtardis@reddit
Tarrant was smug, but at the same time was much more charismatic and energetic than Clarkson. Teehee!
MembershipKey1520@reddit
Charismatic? Surely not - he was just an unbearable, smug tosser. Clarkson is too, mostly in his Top Gear days but he's not like that (usually) on Millionaire.
perishingtardis@reddit
Well yeah. He has the gift of the gab, he'd have to considering his main work was on radio. He is irritating but undoubtedly a skilled presenter
feesh_face@reddit
A contrary opinion - Clarkson is unbearably smug imo.
Agree with the response to the question through, Millionaire is a seemingly very easy gig.
Moppo_@reddit
The difference is Clarkson's smugness can be funny, even though he is a twat.
mhoulden@reddit
Bamboozle: https://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Bamboozle!
MarkRand@reddit
Preferred the teletext version
mhoulden@reddit
So do I but Reddit broke my link. Try [this one] (https://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Bamboozle!)
PazyP@reddit
The bridge of lies with Ross Kemp seems pretty easy, a few questions are asked though but he basically just stands there up on that balcony thing.
Ok-Set-5829@reddit
Remember, were looking for the easiest game show presenting gig!
ShowmasterQMTHH@reddit
Repeating himself and "talking to the bridge". It's like he was a soap star
TheFortyFourthSunset@reddit
Troof or lie? Troof or lie? Nothing else is gonna open up”. Can’t stand that show.
PazyP@reddit
It’s absolutely dung
LiamJonsano@reddit
I love the idea that he’s stood there saying it but I’m 100% sure he records it after in a box and they just play it over when it goes quiet/the contestant has nothing to say
TRUTH OR LIE and reading the options is clearly “live” though
Moppo_@reddit
I dunno, I can't imagine it's easy being that patient. I think I've probably seen two contestants out of who knows how many who actually knew what thdy were doing.
Tight-Principle-743@reddit
Pointless - for Xander, it’s a bit of reading, some banter with your cohost and contestants and that’s about it.
MintberryCrunch____@reddit
He also has to read answers with letters missing, which might be tricky when he seemingly often knows most of them.
HotRabbit999@reddit
He was the answer to a question once too. "Best selling albums of 20xx" (can't remember the year) & he was a pointless answer which was quite fun lol.
LaidBackLeopard@reddit
It's a classic
given_to_the_wind@reddit
Pretty sure I also saw him as a pointless answer to actors in Doctor Who Christmas specials too a few years ago
JamesL25@reddit
100%. All Robin Houston had to do was read the questions
Hazeri@reddit
Bridge of Lies
TapeDeckSlick@reddit
Catchphrase
jamesdownwell@reddit
Just say what you see I guess.
mhoulden@reddit
Tell that to Roy Walker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLNMB1Om8AQ
snaphunter@reddit
Or Nick Weir who broke his foot during a recording.
https://youtu.be/oJhHTnBWc6M
Prasiatko@reddit
That then looked like it took a year to heal due to all the filming being done in a week or two period.
disgruntledhands@reddit
Million Pound Drop
Davina is paid to say whats on a HUGE screen that the audience and contestants can see and she just repeats it ad nauseum.
SaysUselessThings@reddit
None of them. Presenting is tricky and takes a reasonable amount of skill. It's not just reading questions.
adrian-tw10uk@reddit
The 1% club. I love Lee Mack but it's an extremely repetitive format. Question, how many got it wrong, new jackpot, next question.
Live_Lifeguard1267@reddit
The best presenters make a very difficult job look easy. It's why Wogan, and everything he ever touched, always looked so relaxed as he was brilliant at what he did.
Edmonds (can't stand the man) looked like he had the cushiest job in the world because he is (and always was) fantastic at what he did. Even if he was a total CockWomble.
The best current presenter (IMHO) by some distance is Victoria Coren Mitchell. She can hold her own on pretty much anything from her own superlative Only Connect to Taskmaster, Would I lie to You, Have I Got News for you, Room 101 whether as host or panel member. Let alone she is a double European and World Poker Champion.
And if it sounds like I have a big ole crush, you'd be right
adrian-tw10uk@reddit
She's absolutely fantastic on Only Connect. She perfectly balances self-depricating sarcasm, given it's quite a niche quiz, with genuine interest and her clearly very high level of general knowledge. (I'd really like to see her do Last One Laughing, btw)
SquirrelIll8180@reddit
Great tits too
BerryOk966@reddit
Oh do grow up
HotSector8167@reddit
100% agreed its not the Chase, Bradley is irreplicable
mhoulden@reddit
I'm sure they put some of the answers in it just to see if he can keep a straight face.
TheRealVinosity@reddit
As a follow-up to that... when Bradley met Fanny.
https://youtu.be/rb-DYY0upBo?si=USOcOhtb1IkymHMJ
HotSector8167@reddit
Hahaha I love this iconic clip! I think its a testament to how fun he must also be backstage if people are comfortable to mess with him like this. Honestly its so hard to explain how every aspect of The Chase just works but it just does
LiamJonsano@reddit
Tenable when it was on… read 6 questions, bit of jokes about “I used to be in Star Wars/Harry Potter you know” when those sort of categories came up, have a go at people not knowing answers and pop them off to the vortex…
Great show mind, and Sally Lindsay did make it look awfully difficult to host
T_raltixx@reddit
QI
dmmjrb@reddit
Danny Dyer is on his third gameshow where he relies on a female presenter to read the questions, so I think he's got the cushiest gig.
thehewguy1888@reddit
House of Games...... Just get to chill on a seat and read out some questions
KingStevoI@reddit
Tipping Point's the easiest, especially the celeb edition. You couldn't get questions more tailored for them. It's mind numbing too imo, watching them insert tokens into the machine.
The Chase is by far my favourite and likely the hardest, unless you've got the right team. The questions are all round and, as you said, Bradley's brilliant at firing out the questions. The Chaser's add that extra obstacle, of course.
Equal-Application731@reddit
Tipping point, easy money
Moppo_@reddit
They need a presenter who is less excitable.
ShowmasterQMTHH@reddit
Wheel of fortune looks like a piece of piss.
Parking-Tip1685@reddit
Lingo
MintberryCrunch____@reddit
In The Chase Bradley isn’t always perfect, if he bungles a question they pause the timer, go back and ask a different question. Not saying he’s not good at the job though by any means.
Savanarola79@reddit
Bridge of lies
llynllydaw_999@reddit
Some may be easier than others, but none will he easy, even if the host makes it look so.
Moorglademover@reddit
Countdown.
Remote-Field4624@reddit
It should be deal or no deal but Noel Edmonds probally made it work through his sheer cult leader energy which worked but pick boxes to open is the brief.
Ok_Chipmunk_7066@reddit
I'd say Pointless considering they stretch 4 questions out over 30 minutes.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is also a little drawn out, but they'll get about 20 questions out over the 45ish minutes.
I got bored of The Chase a while ago, but you got to admit Bradley's ability to speed read the questions is impressive.
