In this weather, would you consider mowing your lawn at 20:30 reasonable or not?

I tend to think that any time between 9am and 9pm is perfectly acceptable for making regular household noise. (Construction noise is different and probably should wrap up by 6pm if possible.) Although, caveat: I lived in LA, London and Hong Kong at different points, so my noise tolerance will likely be higher than a lot of people’s. If you know there’s a *temporary* situation where a neighbour would benefit from earlier (or later) quiet, like they have an early exam (flight, surgery, etc) tomorrow or they threw an 18th birthday party last night and will be grotesquely hungover this morning, by all means be kind and keep noisy stuff to the middle of the day for that day, but generally, I consider 9am-9pm to be acceptable noisy hours. A lot of people/places consider 7am-11pm fine for some noise (possibly different on Sundays) though I personally wouldn’t run a vacuum or lawnmower that early or late. It’s nice that you’re considerate, but ultimately, people will always have babies, and have been since forever. They grow up in society like we all do. They learn to adjust to noise. While there are outliers, *most* of them adjust more easily if they’re exposed to a variety of it early.
