I'm eyeballing a slice I took out of the top of my thumb while slicing onions very very fine last night, for an ad hoc soup idea that came to me while I was out and about. contemplating starting a new thread about "let the air get to it" versus "band aids for everything." I swaddled it in toilet paper and sticky tape last night because it bled like a sonofabitch and I still had onions to slice. but ten minutes ago I removed the tape and just waiting a while for it to dry out before I settle to sleep.

Recuperating from being nervous all afternoon. I'm from the Netherlands but emigrated decades ago to Canada and now US. I was on my weekly video chat with my 85 yr old mom when she had a tia in front of me. Once she recovered, not remembering anything, I kept her talking and texted her cousin on WhatsApp who immediately came over. Several hours later, she's back home on blood thinners. This is when you feel guilty having emigrated. Wished I was high but no, finally chill though. Geez!

Spontaneously planting a row of hydrangeas in my backyard.
Once upon a time, my impulsive streak would have me in the back of a van full of strangers heading to God knows where, bumming cigs off of people I would never see again, getting drunk in some random field in the middle of god knows where, or at a basement house party, enthusiastically drinking, whatever somebody put in my hand.
Now it’s a suburban long weekend and I’m off to the store to grab those hydrangeas that I spotted on sale today and get them in the ground before sundown.

Walked the dog in a light, misty rain late morning…which was so refreshing. Did my admin work (small business owner) tidied up the kitchen, cleaned out the fridge and took another stroll with the dog. No gummies yet but a few dabs in! Having chicken/sriracha meatballs with couscous and a kale salad for supper! Sleepy time podcast after dinner. I used to be really popular! lol

I’ve been sitting in our backyard all afternoon reading, watching my husband tear apart our kids old play structure repurposing it for a chopped wood storage area.
Two hours of that time said kid came out and sat beside me working on a major English lit paper (Grade 11) due soon.
I even got up to do some random weeding. We’ll BBQ steaks later. It’s beautiful out. I need this to generate enough positive energy to do get through the grind this week
