Still waiting for 1080p OLED in 24 or 27 inches.
siazdghw@reddit
The text quality on a 27" 1080p OLED will be horrendous.
I'm guessing you're looking for an esports monitor tho?
Asgardisalie@reddit
Yup, purely an esport display, I don't care about text clarity.
ayseni@reddit
Why not just get a 1440p one?
halotechnology@reddit
Ehhhhhhwwwooo
That's gonna look like trash.
BlueSwordM@reddit
Man, a 24 inch 1080p/1440p self-emissive display is something I'd instantly buy.

Great news for everybody, OLEDs are now affordable for everybody starting from mid tier PCs.
HyruleanKnight37@reddit
If only we didn't have a flat 70% tax on monitors...
Where I am from, midrange PC builders (5070 + 7700X) have to settle for monitors that cost less than $300 in the west.
A $500 monitor costs over $850; don't even ask what a $700+ monitor costs here.
East-Today-7604@reddit
Pakistan/India? If that's the case, there are bigger problems there than expensive monitors.
But yeah, \~70% tax sounds awful.
HyruleanKnight37@reddit
Bangladesh. We don't have Pakistan/India problems, fortunately.
East-Today-7604@reddit
Yeah, I just used AI for quick search to tell me countries with big taxes on monitors, it ended up showing Pakistan&India, that's why I came up with those 2.
HyruleanKnight37@reddit
The sad part is this 70% tax shouldn't exist today at all. Back in the 2000s media companies figured out you could use a set-top box to watch cable TV on monitors just like on regular TVs, which already had this 70% tax, so they pushed for the same regulation on monitors.
Absolutely nobody does this today, yet this archaic law persists.
Express_Living2264@reddit
We still have a tax on certain alcoholic beverages to finance the emperors war fleet. We don't have an emperor for 100+ years by now :P Your tax isn't going anywhere.
EdliA@reddit
Why such high taxes? It's not like Bangladesh has a thriving production market of high end monitors to protect.

As someone who spent 1k on the first Alienware, I am both excited and a little annoyed.
inyue@reddit
Aw3423dw? I did the same and no regrets, it's still an awesome monitor and we've been using it for almost half a decade.
NotMedicine420@reddit
Same thing happend to ips. Slow and expensive now you can get ips for pennies.
BlackPet3r@reddit
I mean, you should've seen this coming. Early adopters always pay extra. It's been worth it as someone who bought an 2725DF almost two years ago.
nosurprisespls@reddit
I bought a Samsung 32" 4K a year ago at $800. I like tech, but not brand new tech prices.
ritz_are_the_shitz@reddit
I knew it would happen, yeah. And it was worth it, yes
