Using airbrake in PO180
Posted by dbtsai@reddit | flying | View on Reddit | 37 comments
My airplane, a Pipistrel Virus, has an excellent 18:1 glide ratio and can be registered either as a motor glider or as an airplane. Mine is registered as an airplane.
It really does not want to come down. Every landing has to be a power-off landing, and we use the airbrakes like a throttle to manage the descent.
Would using the airbrakes this way be considered “cheating” on a commercial PO180 checkride?
