Im doing fodmap right now and this looks like the shit im eating basically unsrasoned meat and rice
rashandal@reddit
Some time ago I saw a post about how weird it is that dogs always eat the same kibble day after day and they're still excited for it. while humans crave variety and different flavours in their food.
And then I see this
MoonUnit98@reddit
Ironically, plain rice and beef is good for dogs if they have an upset stomach.
IndividualDingo8702@reddit
Plot twist, OP is dog.

Ground turkey or chicken is better for a pup with an upset tum
rashandal@reddit
With this we would just teach our dog to pretend to have an upset stomach
superkow@reddit
It is commonly referred to as boy kibble so you're not far off
monkeyboywales@reddit
I feel like this shouldn't be seen often enough for generalities...
superkow@reddit
I work with a lot of young guys who are into their fitness and boy kibble is a staple in the lunch room. If they're feeling particularly spicy they'll have some broccoli on it too
lightsandflashes@reddit
i eat that, too, it's a fantastic meal. but what on earth is stopping them from adding bell pepper and carrot in their mince? or at least some spices?
superkow@reddit
Some people want their food to be depressing so there's less incentive to eat
lightsandflashes@reddit
hmm. i suppose if you generally struggle with eating too much rather than too little it makes sense. i don't understand how they're able to poop with that little fiber, though.

the gym fad brought on all that meal prepping where ppl started eating like dogs, so much so that there's actually a product now called dawg food
unless you are competing for real or its a matter of health, its a miserable way to live. although i wish we could just take a pill and have all the nutrients we need, but we cultivated gastronomy and really took it to high levels. those gray aliens dont care thats why theyre so small 😂 they probably eat some nutrient paste or something, maybe thatll be us in like 2000 years

MrBootylove@reddit
Why was this downvoted???
FocusBladez@reddit
Probably cause salt isn’t bad in regular doses and is required to keep us alive, and if we look past that there are ways of counter balancing your salt intake like having water which op says they avoided :)
Also salt free seasonings easiest and are delicious
MrBootylove@reddit
I mean I'm not a doctor but if someone has kidney disease I'm pretty sure doctors would recommend limiting their sodium intake by quite a bit.

JD-Moose@reddit
By no reason you mean covert racism brought on by fear mongering and factoids? If yes, more msg for me.
Jetstream-Sam@reddit
For anyone wondering, yes.,it's purely due to racism. Some people made a fake study and letter in 1968 about a guy saying he'd been getting evidence of people who had headaches after eating Chinese food as part of a bet he could get anecdotal evidence accepted in a prestigious journal. Tons of people wrote back to him expressing that they too have the same, He chose MSG and Chinese food purely because he knew his fellow Americans would be more likely to believe ill of China, which was an enemy of the US at the time.
MSG has been studied extensively over the last few decades and is completely safe, and has been proven so countless times. It's also not purely used in Chinese food and even naturally occurs in a lot of foods and is essentially unavoidable. It's a glutamic acid so it's in practically everything.
Thinking about it though I suppose in the 60s, Chinese food might have caused you headaches because from what I've seen, being properly hydrated was very uncommon then with everyone openly drinking far more than nowadays, and some extra salt might dehydrate you more and give you a headache. But that would probably occur with most food, to be honest. Doubly so if you were continuing to drink alcohol with your meal. I was born in the 90s and the difference from even then is night and day. I remember going through an entire school day of 8 hours on whatever I drank at home, one capri sun at lunch and that was it. Hot summer days, you might be permitted to go get a tiny glass of water from the sink, using the plastic cup that was chained to the wall for the whole class to use, that I'm pretty sure never got cleaned once. Nowadays my younger brother of 10 goes into school with two litres of squash and a can of soda for lunch. And I have to say, I don't get nearly as many headaches as when I was a kid. It's not Chinese food's fault though

It's better with salt, and it's way better with plain Greek yogurt to make it creamy, but I still would devour this. I friggin love hamburger rice

Greek yoghurt is delicious, but with rice and beef?! 🤮
Mundane-Bug-4962@reddit
Have you ever heard of Stroganoff?
TheMilkKing@reddit
I have - that’s sour cream/mustard.
Zizhou@reddit
I mean, sure. Yogurt based sauces are absolutely a thing, and add both creaminess and a subtle tang even without any other seasoning.
And really, even just a bit of it without anything else is going to add some much needed flavor to whatever sort of human kibble that OP is apparently eating.
saturday_sun4@reddit
And texture/moisture too. I love mince, but eating it dry with rice and no flavour would make me very unhappy lol.
gishnon@reddit
Not to mention the nonfat variety of greek yogurt has the protein to calorie ratio of chicken breast. It is pretty amazing stuff.

saturday_sun4@reddit
I mean that's what makes it shitty as no one just eats plain beef and rice though. People make keema or spag bol or larb or... idk... other mince dishes, and use actual flavour.
Eating plain unseasoned mince is shittyfoodporn.

xbromide@reddit
Beef and rice is a staple for the wild gym bro.
I recommend sauté julienne onion and cabbage and mix with the beef. Add a topping such as spicy mayo, pepper sauce, or chili crisp for flavor and to hide the kibble appearance.
It’s not too scary if you’re not familiar with cooking- just don’t burn anything by controlling the heat and it’s hard to mess up. Just buy a couple onions and a head of cabbage and chop them into thin strips (julienne). Store all that in a bag or container in the fridge or cook it all at once for meal prep day. Scoop a handful into a sauté pan with some oil and salt (important) and cook until translucent but still crunchy. Season with garlic powder, white pepper, soy sauce, and sesame seed if you fancy.
