I had this bike for a few weeks now and it has a nfc card to turn it on and I believe me touching it with the card got it all scratched up is there a way to fix this or do I have to just buy a new display ?

Hi, I'm not sure if you will be able to get hold of it but I was given a kit that was designed to get rid of scratches on visors that fighter pilots have on their helmets.
I had found a clear motorcycle screen that been dumped by the roadside, I was looking for one to replace the solid coloured one that had come with the bike when I purchased it and I didnt have the money to buy a new screen.
The clear screen was badly scratched but with a bit work and to my surprise the scratches came out.

What was the kit called ?

I'm really sorry, I don't know. The kit was given to me by an officer when I was a Marine about 24 years.
All I can say is that he just happened to know someone who was part of small contingent of the Air force that was based in the same location, and the officer got it from him.
I thought there might be a civilian equivalent to it. I have looked on the internet and there appears to be lots of kits you can readily buy to repair scratches in plastic.
It wasn't that easy for me to google search a solution almost a quarter of a century ago 😅

They make polishing compounds that can fix it. Probably the easiest would be to go to an auto supply store and get a kit made for polishing those plastic headlight covers on cars.

Don’t worry about it

If it’s just surface scratches from tapping the NFC card, you can improve it with a plastic screen polish, but deep scratches usually won’t fully disappear. If the display works fine, you don’t need a new one, consider buying a cheap clear film over it to also hide minor scratches and prevent more damage.

Do you know what kind of plastic screen polish ? And I was trying to look for a film to put over it but wasn’t sure what I was looking for
