hey guys, i’m not a huge car guy but i really wanna get into a project car. i recently found a kelmark GT on sale for $6000 CAD(4.3k USD) with 100,000km (62k miles) on it . Is it worth the price? Not a huge fan of that interior dash and if i could change it id like it more but exterior looks great. Needs work but i dont mind a long term project. Can i get some advice on if i should get this?
originally i was looking at old challengers, thunderbirds or camaros for way less but this unique design really has me obsessed rn

Saw this on Kamloops FB marketplace, hello fellow interiorite!

I just recently found one in yellow . Its design is based on the Ferrari Dino ( i think also porsche 904). The one you found has a kelmark made frame due to the engine configuration. Mine is VW chassis based. I think youre going to need a total resto including new engine , its probably worth half what they are asking for.

I havent bought it yet but the previous owner said he gave it to the current owner so he thinks $500usd should do it. I have all the VW parts to rebuild it too

holy 500usd is so good!

This is a unique build. Since you can't do an oem dash, the sky is the limit inside. The exterior and engine are the only things people will judge value over. That being said, it is a project car, the labor is for love of a project no one else is doing or has done and it is a fair price. Enjoy it

The unique factor alone for this car is worth the time investment. Drivetrain and electronics are a blank slate for this one - do it!
It will be a labor of love project, but so very worth it. Just know the purchase price for the car will be maybe 25% of time and money cost it will need to be a semi-reliable cruiser. If you aren't in for the love of the game and outcome....buy a used Corolla

I love this kit car. It's one of the best kit cars as far as looks. It is intended to look like a Ferrari Dino, which is one of there best looking cars.
$6K would be a good deal if the car is really clean. No rust, runs well, etc.
