Recommendations for CPU

Planning on upgrading from my i7 9700k what are some good recommendations? Other than gaming I have a few side things like video and photo editing but nothing too crazy.
Been an intel fanboy until the late news about them recently so I have been thinking of swapping over to AMD along with budget friendly options. Dont really know much about AMD other than the good multi-task capability and hearing "Ryzen 7 9800X3D good"
Upgrading to RTX 5070 OC from a 1070 Ti if that's any relevancy and budget wise im willing to spend Ryzen 7 9800X3D money ($629)

If you're willing to go to amd I'd reccomend the 7800x3d. It's cheaper than the 9800x3d and it's still an absolute beast... And the 3d vcache will help with rendering and editing.

the 7800x3d and the 9800x3d use the same socket am I correct? In the event I want to for whatever reason plan on switching from the 7800x3d to the 9800x3d

Yes but if you ever upgraded from that it would be better if you got the 9950x3d 2 but you wouldn't need to upgrade from the 7800x3d really

Yep same socket

If you have the budget not need to think more just get the 9800x3d, it's the best. There are other options such as the 7800x3d or cheaper cpus but they're worse but costs less. These days the ram is going to cost as much as the cpu.
