Other than continuing to document these things and (in the US) "putting pressure" on our politicians to end support, which is not really doing anything, is there any thing else we can do???
It's absolutely disheartening to see something like this nearly every day. Ughh
year_trader_99@reddit
You can stop falling for Hamas propaganda for a start.
Status_Winter@reddit
Even Reuters is Hamas propaganda now.
year_trader_99@reddit
Reuters is just echoing what a Hamas supporter said
Status_Winter@reddit
Ok? Are you trying to say that the activists on the flotilla are Hamas supporters so we just shouldn’t believe anything they say?
year_trader_99@reddit
They are Hamas supporters, and that’s enough for me to believe they’ll tell any lie they can if it helps hurt Israel.
Reuters just reports things they get
PartySr@reddit
750 million dollars for propaganda, and all their talking points are limited to "everything is khamas".
year_trader_99@reddit
Hamas started this war. All they have left is 40% of Gaza and a triggered Greta Thunberg on a flotilla.
IsNotPolitburo@reddit
The Hasbara hasn't caught up to the reality of a world where the word "antisemitism" has been so overused that it's no longer a magical incantation that silences all dissent.
Status_Winter@reddit
I really don’t think Reuters just reports whatever they get, that’s not how journalism works.
Like I don’t think you can just go to a hospital and say you’ve been beaten. Any doctor would know when someone’s been legitimately sexually assaulted.
But I know you think all doctors are Hamas and all journalists are Hamas and the whole world is out to get you blah blah blah
Shady_bookworm51@reddit
labeling anything critical of the epstien regime as hamas propaganda isn't working anymore.
alexjuuhh@reddit
Maybe stop bootlicking a genocidal regime.
year_trader_99@reddit
They are only “genocidal” because your favorite terrorist groups got fucked so hard by them after starting a war on all fronts, right?
year_trader_99@reddit
You can stop fall for Hamas propoganda for a start
Status_Winter@reddit
Where is the Hamas propaganda? Reuters have nothing to do with Hamas.
kolitics@reddit
You can always not try to breach the blockade of a foreign country at war.
BurrDurrMurrDurr@reddit
Just so we're all clear: You are OK with torture, rape and human rights abuses of unarmed people if they are captured by a country at war with other entities??
Wild
kolitics@reddit
No but this was very avoidable
Status_Winter@reddit
All Israel had to do was not sexually assault my fellow countrymen for this not to have happened. But you can’t ask a rapist not to rape.
BurrDurrMurrDurr@reddit
Classic straw man argument.
The point is about reports of torture and rape. Even entertaining your weird victim-blaming logic, being captured could have been avoided, sure, but that doesn't mean it precedes human rights abuses....
BTW your logic: You get a speeding ticket for going 5 mph over, instead of a ticket you and everyone in your car are arrested and while in jail, they beat you all and rape your wife. And you would say "Well you can always not go 65 in a 60... this was avoidable"
haggerton@reddit
You can also always not lick genocider rapist boots. Yet here you are.
pimmen89@reddit
We can vote and try to bring attention to the foreign policy track records of the candidates up for election to those who will listen to us, like our friends and family. This is an election year in Sweden, and that's what I'm going to do.
Graybeard_Shaving@reddit
Bullshit. Israel knows, just like everyone else, that these people are and will continue to be media darlings. There is a zero percent chance they’d be abused or they’d view abuse and then be released. Jesus, people will fall for anything.
SirLadthe1st@reddit
Ben-Gvir literally filmed himself on camera abusing them, but sure, whatever you say
Graybeard_Shaving@reddit
See, this is the problem. Your definition of abuse is one subjective thing but these people are claiming not simply claiming some low bar level of abuse. They are literally claiming full on rape. 100% guaranteed that didn’t happen and it certainly wasn’t filmed.
TommyTwoNips@reddit
yeah, there's no way the country that rapes doctors to death and treats prison guards who were caught raping a prisoner ON CAMERA like they are media darlings would ever cover up and lie about their constant human rights abuses.
ycnz@reddit
Yeah, but we're literally talking about a society that celebrates raping prisoners.
Status_Winter@reddit
Have you seen the pictures? They have absolutely bean beaten and tasered at the very least.
It’s hardly that surprising from a country that trains its dogs to rape prisoners
ThePromise110@reddit
This is hardly surprising and, frankly, utterly believable. We already know how they abuse and rape captive Palestinians. There's no reason to disbelieve that a genocidal apartheid state would do anything less to people they also see as unworthy.
Syrairc@reddit
There are lots of reasons to believe they wouldn't do it to citizens of other nations while under intense media scrutiny. Saying otherwise is just silly.
They'd definitely do it if they thought they could get away with it though
ycnz@reddit
They 100% think they'd get away with it.
Metasenodvor@reddit
agreed.
i dont understant why they dont use their 'tamer' soldiers for europeans since this is really bad PR. westerners care much more about their own then palestinians.
TommyTwoNips@reddit
Westerners don't give a shit about their own when it comes to Israel. US citizens get murdered by illiterate settler freaks every year and nothing comes from it other than that cuck Mike Huckabee re-affirming the US subservience to greater Israel.
Israel bombed a US navy ship, killing dozens of sailors and injuring dozens more.
Nothing will come of this. They could execute those activists publicly and you'd still have Western leaders going to TV to call you antisemitic for implying that's evil.
GothicGolem29@reddit
>Israel boned a US navy ship
IIRC the investigation of that ruled it was an accident. It was also a long time ago so can’t really be used to say anything about the present
TommyTwoNips@reddit
yeah, I'll ignore all the contradicting reports and just believe it was an accident.
It was just and accident.
Just like the time they assassinated an American journalist.
And American human rights observers.
And American doctors.
And American Aid workers.
all just regular accidents that were in no way the fault of poor, poor Israel, who is the REAL victim in all of this.
cefriano@reddit
Because even with terrible PR and general outcry, the governments won't do shit to hold Israel accountable. In fact, the US just sanctioned several of the flotilla members.
Assassiiinuss@reddit
Israel's "marketing" has been absolutely stupid ever since October 7. One of the easiest events to spin in favor of Israel yet they completely failed to do so.
m0ngoos3@reddit
I don't think Israel has "tamer" soldiers. Israel actively encourages this sort of rot, and once the rot sets in, it spreads quickly.
cefriano@reddit
They released them with severe, visible bruises, knowing that they'll be photographed and publicized, because they know they can do what they want with complete impunity and never be held accountable. The US has even sanctioned some of the flotilla activists.
Significant-Item-223@reddit
I don't believe this at all on the other hand. Israel is without a doubt a country with the most vile government currently on earth, without a doubt they sexually assaulted captive palestines, but I don't think they'd do this to people from abroad. Not because it would be morally wrong, but because of all the spotlights they are getting right now and because how much they care to be viewed as the "right" guys in the situation.
It's hardly believable at all and hurtful to all the palestinian victims.
IAMADon@reddit
I doubt they'd care where they're from, especially when they were on the so-called "Hamas flotilla". It's people they have power over and seen an opportunity to take someone else's dignity, like all sexual assault.
If rapists considered the consequences, there would be no rapists.
Significant-Item-223@reddit
Rapists and murderers in most cases rely on a belief, that they won't be caught. Institutions however work with the fact that the horrible deeds might be uncovered, so they use tactics to diminish the fallout. That's why police, for example, beat you up in gloves. Israelis unleashed their power fantasy on these activists, but I don't believe they'd actually rape them.
Severe-Elk2517@reddit
If they know they can get away with genocide and practically buying the US legislative branch among others, I don’t think they’d be all that concerned with the fallout of this.
grahegarty@reddit
The courage that these people have must be something else, knowing what atrocities that Israel have committed recently. This is the last thing that they deserve. We all need to stand up more against our governments, to demand some form of proper reconciliation for this. They were kidnapped in international waters and abused.
Additional_Ad_3530@reddit
Unacceptable, however let's not forget that USA and the European union are Israel major enablers, therefore complicit with all Israel never ending list of violations and crimes against humanity.
PartySr@reddit
And the investigation will result that Israel did all of that, but they will hide the results, or worse, they will release the information to the public, and act like Israel did nothing wrong.
farbenfux@reddit
At this point, they could kill our citizens and Germany would still lick the boot. The government so far is willfully ignorant to all atrocities and I loose hope that it will eher change.
It is disgusting enough that the outcries in some places only start when the "right" people get hurt (It's racism - it always is) but still... nothing happens.
None of these fucks should ever come near me talking about how they care about human rights, a "RuLe-BAsEd OrdER" (lol) or how they care about freedom or self determination. They lost all their credibility. Long ago, but the last years really put it und er a magnifying glass.
