It's been a long journey. But my MX5 project car is cleaner than ever with some exciting mods. Can't wait for the road trip I have planned next month!

I fix and sell a lot of old cars and would love to do this with every car that comes my way to truly clean them up. Someone here mentioned dry ice blasting and it seems like that's the way to go to speed up the process. Was the difference in cost great enough to warrant grinding it, was it too caked on to blast it, or did you just not have easy enough access to that type of equipment?
PerformanceEqual3775@reddit (OP)
Simply just dong have access. I live on a small ish island off the UK. There's no services around her like that. I dint regret doing it. Learnt alot about how the car goes together and have a better understanding of it and how to fix it ๐

What kind of cassis bracing is that?
Very nice overhaul!
PerformanceEqual3775@reddit (OP)
It's from IL motorsport ๐
Yhelisi@reddit
Nice, what coating product did you use to get it so clean and neat?
PerformanceEqual3775@reddit (OP)
Just some rust protection paint. Then I sprayed it and lacquered it. Then once it was all done used some undercoat wax
basicKitsch@reddit
Man just seeing that has to feel so good.ย Nicec work
PerformanceEqual3775@reddit (OP)
Thanks. There's lots of work to do. But I'm happy so far
spellbreakerstudios@reddit
How does one do this? Iโve got a fiesta st and the underside looks like your before photo. Rust on everything. Doesnโt look like Iโve got it eating through, I rust proofed it this winter when I got it, but if I wanted to get it clean, whatโs the process?
PerformanceEqual3775@reddit (OP)
Alot of time ๐ Took everything apart. Grinding back all the rust. Used a rust protector paint then sprayed ontop of that. Then while I was in there put the RX8 parts I wanted and Polybushed everything
spellbreakerstudios@reddit
Haha well it looks great! Someday maybe Iโll undertake the same thing.
