This is incredibly wrong. Bring a right-wing person from 50-60 years ago to today and he would get along with modern rightwingers because their core values are mostly the same and they still defend and want same things.
On the other hand, bring a leftist from idk 3-4 years ago to today and he would be called nazi by modern leftists.
It's literally the reverse of the image. The left-wingers have gone more and more extremely to the left such that the Overton Window is now the extreme-left of two decades ago and the new extreme-left are literally self-avowed Marxist revolutionaries. Meanwhile, the centrists of two decades ago that haven't changed their views at all are now routinely called far-right Nazis for daring to have a milquetoast opinion that doesn't devoutly echo Marxist talking points. You can't even just not have an opinion; you must agree and emphatically praise them for their views or you're a hyper-far-right ultra-fascist turbo-Nazi. They've gone completely insane, pushing normal people — let alone more conservative types — to the fringes of political discussion. And then the Marxists have the gall to make claims like the above which are just flat-out inversions of reality. And they know it and don't care because they'll literally do anything to win; lying and protection is their bread and butter.
"My only principle is winning." — Vaush, proudly self-avowed Marxist, quoted verbatim.
Why do the damn normies love Amazon delivery, Steam games, and Starlinks more than the sacred and most holy methheads rifling through their cars at night?

the 90-9-1 Rule (or the 1% Rule). Coined by internet researcher Jakob Nielsen, it describes "participation inequality" in online communities, stating that 90% of users only view content, 9% contribute occasionally (e.g., commenting), and just 1% create almost all the active content.
Internet discourse is mostly generated by people with too much time on their hands (disaffected losers).
one of my absolute fucking favorite things about this app is that people, on reddit, actively using reddit - will unironically go "just wait until the redditors get here"
Perhaps I'm lucky, but as much as I'm told about thsse people being everywhere and unavoidable, I hear about them more then I actually witness and interact with them
I mean, I could go searching and find them in about 30 seconds, but I could find a lot of things I don't care for or don't want to see in 30 seconds
Well we aren't exactly talking about going to find them in the deep corners of the web here.
Just go to Politics. Or News. Or Law. Then say something completely benign and normal like:
I think that Israel is being overly broad and aggressive in their response to October 7, but I also recognize that they're dealing with an interactive terrorism problem and that Hamas are using human shields.
I support trans peoples' right to transition and live their lives as they see fit. It's only polite, so I'll do my best to use their preferred pronouns. But the girls sports thing is probably going too far, and some of the neopronoun stuff is sort of loopy and attention seeking.
See how fast you attract attention and/or get permabanned.
I was permabanned with no prior warnings for saying almost word for word that second paragraph.
Lol you wouldn't get banned for either of those comments
The Israel comment is only normal if you aren't aware of any of the history of Israel, the history of Gaza or even the history of the founding of Hamas (supported by Israel to become the government of Gaza). If you went on worldnews and made your comment you'd get a bunch of hasbara accounts telling you that Israel's response has been the most measured response in history
The trans women in sports thing is so minor, happens on such a small scale, that even making that comment in the first place and continuing to think about it gives insights into your leanings. In K-12 int the US there are 5 total identified trans women athletes, in college sports it's less than 50 and most aren't even particularly good
see the thing is, that r/politics (also like, incredibly botted), is legitimately small fry, it's irrelevant - a single Taylor Swift Instagram post will have more reach then a r/politics thread ever will
Reddit is community run, mods suck, bots are rampant snd intentionally stirring the pot.
I'm asking you, why do you care?. Did you legitimately enjoy posting on r/politics that much? could you not just make an alternative account and keep doing it?
Just wait until the elections grow closer, you’ll have a close encounter of the second kind. Mods in many left leaning subreddits are radicals or possibly foreign agents. I was kicked from multiple left-leaning subreddits for telling people to vote for Democrat Kamala and to not “revenge/principle vote” Jill Stein. I questioned the ban and a very pro-China mod had a back and forth with me in messages instead of being reasonable. Said person denied China’s genocide of Muslims whilst also trying to convince me that voting Stein wasn’t go to lead to Trump winning. You’ll never guess who won 2024. The final thing the mod said to me before blocking me was in German, so either a direct Marxist quote meaning the extremes of the left were in control or actually a European basement dwelling socialist was moderating a subreddit for American politics.
Mods in any leaning subreddit are radicals by nature. Left or Right doesn't matter. You're in a curated forum if you don't conform you'll get the ban cause you're ruining the circle jerk.
I mean really, online activism does fuckall anyway. if you want to get politically involved, go outside. If you don't want to go outside, then why bother at all.

reddit very much depends on the sub and the moderators. Some ban you for the mildest criticism or because you make a small joke (like how i got banned from r/communism) and others are pretty much free wheeling post whatever you like within tos.
I once got banned from Asmongold's sub on an old account for making a joke about him being unclean and the mod said "it may have been a joke but next time try to be funny" lmfao
I got banned from r/comics because someone posted a comic promoting political purity testing and I said I think that political purity testing is regarded and pushes people who are trying to learn or be better people and only serves to push people into extremist circles.

We’re actually in an epistemology crisis. Everyone is being fed salient algorithmic news content designed to shape their world view into caricatures of their natural inclinations. Being reasonable and trying to understand things is literally getting more difficult every day.
It’s like how the food we have is so tasty and calorie dense it’s difficult to not be obese. We evolved surviving starvation for a million years, and now you can spend 7 bucks at Taco Bell for an entire days worth of calories.

I hate how much they badmouth and blame Gorbachev for not magically fixing decades of stagnation and unironically think his plans to democratize the USSR was 'capitalistic' and increasing freedom to the USSR's citizens was 'anti communist'
Gorbachev implemented Capitalist reforms and became a social democrat after the fall of the Union. He was also in a Pizza Hut commercial when Soviet in post-soviet countries were collapsing. Gorbachev was just the last domino but he doesn’t have clean hands either.
You know they aren’t bad once you get to know them, I dated a skin walker for 8 months and she never ONCE took more that 2 feet of skin at one time, AND it was spaced out so I could heal!

Wrong. The real reddit-ass position is that Communism is a myth. It's never actually been tried without western Capitalist sabotage intervening. Same with socialism, but to a lesser degree (applies to most attempts at socialist policies/programs in the Western hemisphere).
Just say there's never been true capitalism, it really confuses them when you use their backwards ass logic against them. Of course despite their educations few can hold a conversation, they can mention books, data, and such but not think whatsoever. I don't think you'll find any Government that doesn't have some deviations from the definitions, maybe some small island type but anything above tribe level really is going to have problems in this regard because something will become a law or regulation that fights that premise.
I'm just waiting for someone with enough push to make the claim. There's enough restrictions in just about every Capitalist countries from absurd regulations, absurd laws, and social welfare being an antithesis (hard work favors the workers) that an argument could be made.
I never understand how people get the sense of Facebook having some particular political slant. Isn't it just stuff from your friends and family on Facebook?
The only thing you need to know is that there is greater wealth disparity now between the ultra rich and, well, everyone else than there was during the days of the Robber Barons.
I don't think you can accuse america of becoming communist after that was addressed, and the only reason we cant buy 2 cars and a family home on a single salary like in the 70s is that the wealth gap is back with a vengeance.
It's not communist or socialist to point out that the ultra wealthy have gotten rich off of the economic output of the rest of us.
It's not crazy to recognize that Amazon warehouse workers provide more value to the company than bezos does, but they're barely paid enough to live.
It's not crazy to demand the fair share of our labor.
Most people still have them. The problem is the algorithms. You only see the stuff getting driven to the top because it engenders the most outrage responses.
This could all be fixed. Society itself could be saved quite easily. All it would take is for algorithms to only reward likes instead of total engagement. But that would reduce ad revenue for the social media companies.
Anon is making a big mistake. By avoiding the most extremist, reductive opinions on any topic, he’s leaving himself nothing to post about on social media. He’s leaving so much potential engagement on the table.
Fox news during the obama years is what happened. They shifted to opinion and party propaganda and made a mint off of it. Opinion news became an entertainment platform branded as truth. The hatred they stir works because people are dumb, panicky animals.
Reddit is more like /Pol/ and Twitter combined. I dont see much communism talk anymore, but as a whole Reddit is extremely left leaning. At the same time though you see wildly antisemitic shit on any posts that have to do with Jews or Israel.
It's the worst mix of virtue signaling and actual blatant racism at the same time.
Bro thought he'd get good takes in four echochambers with different flavours. SMH. If you want to actually talk about politics, you are better off asking random people on the street what they think.
People on the fringes have always held extreme views. Social media has provided a megaphone for those people. I'd wager that people with reasonable political views are less likely to post on social media about them.
Get off the internet. Filled with bots whose entire purpose is to inflict psychosis and paranoia on anyone who looks. It’s like a cognitive virus at this point.

Big-Cat-6582@reddit
Basically, it's all true at the same time. And you gotta get over it

Anon doesn't know about AIPAC

I made this fucking green text I CANNOT believe it is still going around

Funny how much Twitter has shifted since this was posted

Reddit understands the difference between Leninism-Marxism and a communist society. Based.

Good goy
Tomachian@reddit
Basically any tourist getting into any interest with hardcore people
Res_Novae17@reddit
Most people still have them. The problem is the algorithms. You only see the stuff getting driven to the top because it engenders the most outrage responses.
This could all be fixed. Society itself could be saved quite easily. All it would take is for algorithms to only reward likes instead of total engagement. But that would reduce ad revenue for the social media companies.
mallo15@reddit
Because once you become someone who's "interested" in politics, especially some certain ideology, you cannot have "normal" political views.
betterthaneukaryotes@reddit
2021 btw
Dry_Blueberry6806@reddit
You can really tell this is from 2021
hairyballsinmybutt@reddit
As it turns out, most people are stupid and easily influenced.
ConsciousStretch1028@reddit
Funny because twitter is the exact opposite now lol
Pingushagger@reddit
The average (normal) person isn’t discussing politics in online spaces. You’re obviously gonna find weirdos there.
escudonbk@reddit
Ragebait=engagement=money
Also the internet is not a real place.
Yeseylon@reddit
I remember when it was... Good times...
TheNeuroLizard@reddit
Anon is making a big mistake. By avoiding the most extremist, reductive opinions on any topic, he’s leaving himself nothing to post about on social media. He’s leaving so much potential engagement on the table.
SlimothyJ@reddit
xvsanx@reddit
this was during 2021 too, awful times
Stompert@reddit
Well, 2026 isn’t much better.
xvsanx@reddit
fair lol
Pepperonidogfart@reddit
Fox news during the obama years is what happened. They shifted to opinion and party propaganda and made a mint off of it. Opinion news became an entertainment platform branded as truth. The hatred they stir works because people are dumb, panicky animals.
SunnySalads@reddit
Reddit is more like /Pol/ and Twitter combined. I dont see much communism talk anymore, but as a whole Reddit is extremely left leaning. At the same time though you see wildly antisemitic shit on any posts that have to do with Jews or Israel.
It's the worst mix of virtue signaling and actual blatant racism at the same time.
Active-Ambassador275@reddit
Mom said its my turn to post this now
ZaidCharades@reddit
It's funny how this post dates itself by it's views on twitter.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Wait you’re telling me women don’t like it when guys are politically radicalized ?
Danijay2@reddit
Bro thought he'd get good takes in four echochambers with different flavours. SMH. If you want to actually talk about politics, you are better off asking random people on the street what they think.
brainrotbro@reddit
People on the fringes have always held extreme views. Social media has provided a megaphone for those people. I'd wager that people with reasonable political views are less likely to post on social media about them.
cybrfunk@reddit
Everything has to be in extremes now
TheAppleGentleman@reddit
Anon discovers politics
And that History is inheretly political and can't be teached or studied objectively

Me reading this after reading some moron talking about how colors are a social construct.
Jugaimo@reddit
Get off the internet. Filled with bots whose entire purpose is to inflict psychosis and paranoia on anyone who looks. It’s like a cognitive virus at this point.
