What nicknames have you heard for places in the UK?

People not from Shepherds Bush have started calling it SheBu (pronounced Shay Boo) which fucks me off. It's always been Bush within my friend group and my parents and their mates call it The Bush.

I heard Shay Boo years ago and was told it was the Aussie nickname for it, what with that part of London being the centre of Aussie migrant life in London. Don't know how true that is as I'm not from there and don't know any Aussies.

Yes. Always use the shorthand version for mail etc. If you're from Pompey you rarely mention the county probably due to the fact it was originally Southamptonshire and we have our own local authority. People's Republic of Portsea Island. ✊🏻
