CPU and motherboard upgrade

What CPU and motherboard would be best for me to go for? I don't have any loyalty to a company, but would like the easiest and affordable yet efficient upgrade.
i7-11700F
3080 RTX
64gb DDR4
Display - 27" FHD (1920 x1080) 180 Hz (thought about upgrading to 4k)

What are you hoping to get out of a CPU upgrade? The 3080 is probably the weak link here

There's been a few games that are very CPU heavy (star citizen in particular). But additionally I multitask a lot (watching videos and animating/video editing or playing a game) and I've noticed my pc slowing down a decent bit.

If you live near a Microcenter in the US, they have a few bundles that may make sense. There is a 270K bundle for $550 which would be your best bet for productivity apps. It will be a small bit behind the x3d cpu's in gaming however - but still a massive upgrade if you are CPU limited now.

7800X3D and a motherboard that has the features you need.

I guess ideally you should get something like 13600K or better and keep your ram. Since you mentioned some heavier multitasking, AMD is kind of unsuitable. Also, I wonder why do you run a non K variant CPU? It is kind of rare for a DIY build. Anyway, you will probably need a new cooler because Intel 13th/14th do run extremely hot
It will help if you can specify the speed of the ram. If they are really too slow for the upgrade, consider selling them and perhaps you do not need to spend too much to get a faster 64GB kit.

At 1080p sure, but if OP is upgrading to 4k I would disagree. Also intel 11th gen is a dead platform so any upgrade would be to a newer platform
