Is there any popular place or county that has zero appeal to you?

Australia does not appeal due to travel and types of wildlife. USA is another due to obvious reasons.
It could be areas in UK too that you do not find appealing. For example London is expensive.

Japan. Something about the fact that there are SO many people and how everyone lives on top of each other (in the major cities that is). I also find the technology and how “ahead” it is quite unsettling.
punky63@reddit
There are plenty of quaint, rural towns that are well worth visiting if that's your thing
That's what I loved about Japan: you can go from a traditional village, to cyberpunk metropolis
Routine_Ad1823@reddit
I never felt crowded in Japan tbh. I was pretty surprised just how much nature and space there was.
Similar, to a much lesser degree in Hong Kong

USA right now.
EnigmaMissing@reddit
I agree. I'm glad I went to the US when I did - and I wouldn't have gone had I not had friends over there
Quinn_XXVII@reddit
Most of the UK cities and big towns are unrecognisable in culture & demographics, but in the same breath, all are gentrified to have the same shitty shops and bars etc
A weak government and rule of law & order has allowed criminality to seep into society and become the norm for many
I’ve travelled and worked at the spear tip end in my career
And the safest places I’ve ever lived were in South & East Asia (China, Japan, Singapore)
Along with Tasmania & the South Islands of New Zealand
I could also throw in Uruguay (felt a little like Italy) & Chile
Oh and randomly, the Berbers in North Africa (but that’s a very different way of life)
The rest of the world is slowly burning to the ground or rotting from the inside out, due to politics (on both sides of the line) and overpopulation

'London is expensive'. Well if you'd like a statement of obvious platitudes then sure.
Dubai. Looks awful.
Desperate-Drawer-572@reddit (OP)
Dubai does not and is not awful. They are ahead of the game in many ways.
Western_Rooster_4832@reddit
I'm sure they are in some ways. But given this is ask UK, it has always seemed to be to be full of the kind of British people that I don't want to have anything to do with.
Actually, maybe I like Dubai in the sense it gives them all somewhere to go, which is a long way away.
Carry on, Dubai.
Opinelrock@reddit
Except morality and human equality and all that unimportant stuff.
Desperate-Drawer-572@reddit (OP)
Bla bla bla
Opinelrock@reddit
Sorry, are you five years old?
Desperate-Drawer-572@reddit (OP)
Na im just laughing at nonsense excuses. People get jealous of wealth in dubai and make sour grape comments
Opinelrock@reddit
Excuse for what?
I'm not excusing the disgusting problems with Dubai, I'm saying they exist.
Wealth doesn't equal a backbone, chief.

Benidorm. Just looks like a hotter version of Blackpool.

Broadly speaking ...
Draw a square which goes from the west coast of Iceland, up to the arctic circle, down to the southermost Greek island; then to the eastern side of Istanbul.
Countries outside of that square mostly don't interest me whatsoever. Not to say that all of the countries *inside* that square interest me, because some don't. But I'm certainly not going to be interested in stuff outside there. Except maybe Japan. Japan's cool.
Future-Selection9287@reddit
American and Dubai, I'm gay. Don't want to be shot.
Moron-with-a-drill@reddit
Just invest some "100% absolutely legal and deffo not dodgy" money there and you'll be fine...
World_wanderer12@reddit
Canada, the scenery looks nice but not nice enough to travel so far for it. Just looks really boring.
Voodoopulse@reddit
Cornwall, some people go on about it like it's heaven on earth, always preferred Devon.
Single-Position-4194@reddit
I always liked Dawlish and Teignmouth; used to go there for day trips when we lived in Plymouth (Dartmeet too).
W51976@reddit
I would like to go back to Cornwall, but I feel Dorset and Devon are just as nice. The West Country is such a massive area.
Quinn_XXVII@reddit
County?
You mean Country?
i_live_by_the_river@reddit
Dubai.
CelDidNothingWrong@reddit
The only people I’ve met who like Dubai are vapid and uncultured
HorrorAd7996@reddit
Isn’t that Dubai as a whole?
Historical_Heron4801@reddit
Same. The things that everyone tries to sell Dubai to me with are the exact reasons I don't want to go.
Me: It's too hot. Them: Oh, that doesn't really matter because you can go indoors for the AC, the shopping malls are all fantastic.
As some who gates both hot weather and shopping. I'm out.
jolly_waffles_real@reddit
And any british who says oh go to Dubai, it's the best place are the same people that make it worse.

Electronic-Fennel828@reddit
Places that are super busy and super hot. Lots of people love that sort of thing and good for them but if a country or place regularly gets above 30 degrees I’ve got no interest in going there really.
Routine_Ad1823@reddit
But "designed to deal with the heat" is still a bit crap if all there is to do is beach or air-conditioned mall
BarNo3385@reddit
The temperature one is so dependent on infrastructure. To the Dubai comments, if you're somewhere were everything is designed to deal with heat, AC is ubiquitous etc its far more manageable.
When we were in Turkey it got up to 50C some days in the middle of the day. Still felt less oppressive than 30 in the UK.

For this same reason I'm not looking forward to England next week!

India. America both never appealed to me
YOF626@reddit
Dubai, Las Vegas.
pgnlzbth@reddit
Dubai. It’s such a cliche. USA for obvious reasons. Australia as it’s just toooooo far away.
Retiredandrelaxed@reddit
You know nothing about London…so many small museums, hidden places, buildings….you are being stereotypical, not defining if talking about living or visiting. London is brilliant as a tourist if you do not just do the main attractions. Being travelling into London with a chum from Home Counties 3 times a year for 25 years to do culture and cocktails and still have so much more to do.
LittleSadRufus@reddit
India looks very interesting with ancient palaces and amazing food, but the reports I've heard about wealth disparity, lack of infrastructure to support good hygiene, and the implications of food poisoning as essentially inevitable put me off completely.
I went to Cambodia for ten days, beautiful place but I did have food poisoning for seven of the days and I'm not keen to repeat that.

Tbf Australia wouldn’t be zero appeal but it’s pretty far down the list of places I’m keen to go to.
Commercial-Pear-543@reddit
London: it’s just too crowded for me. It has never appealed to me.
Dubai: similar sort of thing, built-up uber modern city ≠ a good time
Anywhere that is absolutely scorching in the summer isn’t doable for me because I become really frustrated and mean when I’m too hot. Italy is about my limit.
