Dumplings with plums

It's raining outside and every honest Romanian is craving warm sweets. What are the names of dumplings with plums in your country?
Bojan997@reddit
We call them "knedle", or in my region they’re also called "gomboce".
They are most often made with plums.

Édes jó istenem, I love it soooo much!!! Also with túró or other fruits, it's heavenly

They're called gomboti in romanian, so now it makes sense why :))

I love that, thank you for sharing :) Do you also make it with other fruits, like apricot? The plum version is definitely the most popular here, but apricot-filled dumplings come second.

Knedli in Bulgarian (that's the plural but you never eat just one anyways).

We dont have them in Greece. They look delicious.
Also saying that in 21st May every Romanian craves warm sweets made me laugh a bit and shake my head.
Even with the coldest spring in 30 years, we still are too hot and the only thing to crave is ice cream.
Not that I would say no to these beautiful dumblings if I saw them ofc.

I don't think we have those in Turkey actually.
Does it have fresh (or dried) plums inside or plum jelly?
Demonius999@reddit
Strange, i alway thought that this is originally Turkish desert. At some parts they are also called "gomboce".
Simple_Enjoyer1@reddit
I just looked it up and says gomboce is Serbian (or Croatian).
Maybe it is more popular in Istanbul, but I'm pretty sure we don't have it anywhere else (including Edirne, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli)

Traditionally, in summer and autumn, they are made with plums. I cheated and made it with plum jam. When you pass through Bucharest, I invite you to my house and I make it for you!

yessss they are amazing, we also put sugar inside, and sometimes eat them with kompot 😍
Arge_Deianira@reddit (OP)
II don't have any kompot right now (only some cans of pineapple and that would be sacrilege), but I swear I'll try it next time! Apple kompot? What do you call it in Slovenia?
