Trying to decide between Quickjack vs tilting lift for home garage and ongoing swap

Does anyone have advice you could share to help me?

I have a QJ and it does a good job and most importantly is safe when locked in. It fits easily under the lowest car I have. I wanted a 4 poster but really didn't have the room. The only drawback is, they are heavy. I am going to put casters on mine eventually.

I did casters the day I got mine. I can't imagine not having them.

got a pic??

I just looked it up on YouTube. I did the zip ties on one side and 2x4 on the other side version so I didn't have to drill holes in them.

Quick Jack's win in my book but if you have the ceiling height (like 9ft), i'd just go for low profile 2 post lift.

I have owned the older 5k style QJ’s for probably 4 years or so now. I’ve done motors on them before, but they are certainly not tall enough to drop a motor out the bottom, if that’s what you want to do. I’m on the thiccer side and some cars can be a little tight to roll under on a creeper. Did some work on a Tuscon the other day and barely fit. But I have more room under my e30. Note that I don’t have those extended jack spacers things though, maybe I should get some.
I like them because they’re so low profile, they slip under the rockers of lowered cars very easily. They also allow you do driveshaft/exhaust/etc work unlike a mid rise life would.
All in all, I got mine for $600 used. Even if I paid $1200 I still think they would have been worth it. I do wish they went a little taller though.

I love my quick jacks. Did a 6MT swap on mine; the trans jack and trans didn’t clear so I rolled the trans off the jack onto some cardboard, then slid it out from under the car

Thank you

The newer QJs lift to 24” instead of 21”, may make a difference depending on what you’re working on. I’m a big fan of mine

I've had a set of quick jacks for 5 years or so now. Absolutely worth the money when you can't fit a full size lift.
