Side sleepers -where are your pillows from?

I’ve been through so many pillows and none of them feel sturdy enough a compress too easily.
Fellow side sleepers - where is your favourite pillow from?
forgottenoldusername@reddit
Not really an answer to your question - but I find having my pillow sort of diagonal, rather than parallel to the headboard really helps
-Intrepid-Path-@reddit
Can you explain what you mean by this?
dean012347@reddit
\ instead of -
-Intrepid-Path-@reddit
so leaning it against the headboard? isn't that what everyone does anyway?
dean012347@reddit
Not leaning on the headboard no. When you go to bed try rotating your pillow by 90 degrees clockwise.
GetCapeFly@reddit (OP)
Thank you! I’ll give the diagonal approach a go

White Company. Two small ones for the head, and a big goose down one for in between my knees and to hold.
swhite99@reddit
One from John Lewis and one from Bensond for beds. I only sleep on one at a time. Tend to alternate.
karennotkaren1891@reddit
A temper one. It's solid and cost £90 but it's the best pillow ever
TomfromLondon@reddit
I forgot the make but it's shells or husks or something

Dunlopillo Slim
genxerrr@reddit
Dunelm have lots of pillows and they have them on display so you can feel them. I bought some from there and I'm pretty happy with them.
iwannabeinnyc@reddit
I use these Slumberdown Hotel Quality Pillows... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CFRF6HMX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Embarrassed_Park2212@reddit
Do you use these. How firm are they. Do you use 1 or 2 pillows. Do they dip if you put your head on them.
iwannabeinnyc@reddit
I sleep on two pillows, they are reasonably firm and don’t dip when I lie on them!
Embarrassed_Park2212@reddit
Thanks for that very helpful.

This one from IKEA has been a game changer for me. Been using it for several months now and it's made such a difference, I haven't had neck/back pain since I got it. https://applink.ikea.com/tY8M9r9M4w--60554281--gb--en
Tastetherainbow_2016@reddit
I have a Tempur pillow. Can be a bit warm so I use a percale cotton pillow protector then another softer cotton one on top. Was not cheap but I love it
ki5aca@reddit
This is the one I use. I get neck and upper back issues so need a good firm one. Worth the cost.
Embarrassed_Park2212@reddit
I'm a peasant and bought this 'memory foam' pillow from Primark. It's not memory foam, it's just a rock hard lump in cloth. My daughter loves it but she previously had a panda bamboo pillow. I'm still looking for some but am currently using some god awful ones I found in the cupboard.
DameKumquat@reddit
The Pillow (stupidest name ever) from PhysioParts.co.uk .
Visible_Pipe4716@reddit
I have two Simba ones and they’re heavenly.
GetCapeFly@reddit (OP)
Which Simba ones - the hybrid or the custom flex?
Mapleess@reddit
I’ve got the hybrid ones and found that they can go flat as time goes on. Requires you to properly fluff it up every few days after that.
Wonder_Shrimp@reddit
I'm going to have to check out all of the suggestions!
I've always been fine just using normal, cheap pillows, and then folding and smooshing them to my preferred shape but the last few weeks my neck snd shoulders have been hurting so badly!
I switched to a regular-shaped memory foam pillow which has made it slightly better but I find it so difficult to get comfortable on it
VolcanicBear@reddit
Simba cooling pillow. Never going back.
boredandolden@reddit
Julian Charles Home, that's a shop and not some bloke i burgled. I think the brand was Sealy, but I'm not 100% on that. But it was displayed as a side sleep pillow.
Curly_Edi@reddit
ROSENSKÄRM from ikea. £19. Utterly fabulous for side sleeping. Wish I bought it years ago. Have purchased an extra one to have at my parents for when I'm sleeping over there.
keeponkeepingup@reddit
Premier inn website, best ive found!
da316@reddit
I use a side sleeper pillow similar to this https://kallysleep.com/products/ultimate-side-sleeper-pillow?variant=54837076656476&country=GB&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18331835167&gbraid=0AAAAAC_qpb2JY_XDOrtZ11SjzsChiCdAn&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqf6s-rXKlAMVIJJQBh2fqSHmEAQYCCABEgKo2fD_BwE
has "sides" rather than tapering down to one seam like a normal pillow. felt it made a difference.
AXX-100@reddit
Memory foam panda 🐼 from costco
Papertache@reddit
Latex pillow. Can't remember what brand but it was like £80. Stays lovely and cool, and quite sturdy in a slightly different way from a memory foam pillow.
Infamous-Ordinary-39@reddit
Dunlopillo latex pillow is my recommendation. I've had mine for over 10 years and it's still in perfect condition. They start at £50ish. I found memory foam would become like a brick and too hot and feather/down would be far too flat once compressed.
sakmentoloki@reddit
Emma foam pillow.
TehDragonGuy@reddit
I brought the Premier Inn pillows and after trying loads they're the only ones I'm actually happy with.
runningoutofpens@reddit
Dunelm!
El_John_Nada@reddit
I'm not sure but I'd stay away from the John Lewis goose feather one (the nearly 100 quids one), in my opinion. It was well reviewed for side sleepers but I sleep horrendously on it.
-Intrepid-Path-@reddit
ikea and next
GetCapeFly@reddit (OP)
Any particular ones you like?
-Intrepid-Path-@reddit
The Ikea one doesn't seem to have a model name on it. The Next one says "NOMITE made in Denmark" but again, no model name. I've had them for a few years now so not even sure if the models are still sold (they can be washed, being down, and I also use down pillow protectors).
El_John_Nada@reddit
I'm not sure but it's definitely not the John Lewis goose feather one (the nearly 100 quids one), in my opinion. It was well reviewed for side sleepers but I sleep horrendously on it.
Neddlings55@reddit
I got one of those weird shaped ones and its been a game changer for me.
TrackTeddy@reddit
Buckwheat pillow. Takes getting used to as very different to a conventional pillow, but very comfy
Worried_Suit4820@reddit
I bought pillows from The Woolroom; pricey, but very good.
Russ1878@reddit
I second this. I also have their duvet as well, honestly it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Few-Cup-210@reddit
Worth checking whether your mattress is part of the problem. If your mattress is too firm, your shoulder does not sink in and your neck sits at a worse angle regardless of the pillow. A pillow can only compensate for so much. If you have tried several good quality pillows and still wake up with neck or shoulder tension, the mattress and pillow need to work together, not just the pillow in isolation.
Euffy@reddit
I use cylinder shaped pillows. I need to replace my current one from La Redoute and I'll probably just end up buying a bolster cushion.
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would use a rectangle pillow because the edges taper into nothing which is absolutely useless. That is not the shape that my neck is.
GetCapeFly@reddit (OP)
That’s an interesting idea. Do you get the ones that cover the full width of the bed?
jrw1982@reddit
Simba hybrid. Adjustable and soft enough for my head whilst still supporting.
I find pillows either too soft which gives me neck ache or too hard which gives me head/ear ache.
Unfair_Original_2536@reddit
I have a Sealy side sleeper pillow, it's dead good.
