Why not use a machine gun at this point
bobbobersin@reddit
i mean you could, use the LMG version of the type 95 with the drums
Artistic_Regard_QED@reddit
Can these be converted for belts?

Another level of complexity for a niche use item.

You're right. It's much easier and faster to change 12 magazines every 5 seconds of fire.

That is what privates are for.
the_friendly_one@reddit
You've heard of crew-served weapons. Now get ready for platoon-served weapons.
I_2_Cast_Lead_45acp@reddit
Mostly definitely. That M249 and M240 got heavy on long nature walks
om_svd7@reddit
I dont think they can becuse if you use a belt it will jam becasue how the ejection work

bigger spread I guess? and rifle is much more avaliable than machine guns
chumps_malone@reddit
This setup would have a wider spread of bullets compared to a singular machine gun

I actually think militaries should encourage preparing for these field expedient measures. Sometimes you only have enough machine guns for mounted use, for defending field positions pillboxes trenches etc. Is it normal for these contraptions to be employed? Heck no. But people fight with what they have not what they wish they had, and building some basic intuition of assembling these things is better than wishing bull when SHTF.

factory made or fieldmod?
drummagqbblsw@reddit
This is part of one of the 'inventor competitions' within PLA, where people just submit whatever stuff they came up with to solve certain problems. You see stuff such as coil pistol, exoskeleton, laser drill and all-terrain medical UGV, and of course a QBZ-95 salvo mount
titobrozbigdick@reddit (OP)
possibly field mod
