2 short honks and light flash meaning?

Passed a truck and they honked 2x and flashed their lights. I assume the flashing meant ok to get over.... Then they passed us and flashed lights again. what's it mean? I suppose we'll get off at the next exit and walk around to make sure the vehicle is ok, just in case.

Nope! Double checked. We do have a CB, plugged it in so I can ask in person next time. Pretty quiet so far.

Were you running daytime running lights only?
Very common for people to think their daytime running lights are their headlights and be driving around at night with no tail lights on bc daytime running lights don't turn tail lights on.

That’s the only reason I would honk and flash my lights is if someone has their brights on.

Either he thought your lights were blindingly bright, or something was wrong like your tail lights were out or your safety chains were dragging the ground and throwing up sparks.

If he actually turned the lights off and then on, not flashing, you had/have something wrong with your car. Look underneath to make sure you aren’t dragging something and check all of your tires.
