Fuck Amazon.

I had to go do a drop and hook at an Amazon warehouse today, I get to the drop, the agent tells me there are no empties and to go check the offsite yard, there is an empty for me there. I go in drop my trailer, and head to the offsite yard, that agent tells me there are no empties, and to go in, turn around, and bobtail out. I go in and there are at least 3 empties, I grab one and go to leave, and the guy tells me he’s not going to let me out(I couldn’t really understand what he said as to why), I told him I’m going to sit there until he lets me out, he says he’s going to get the security guard to come over and kick me out(whatever fucker, as long as I get out I don’t care how), I tell him he has 5 minutes to open the gate before I call the police, because he can’t hold me there against my will, I called my dispatcher, he must have heard me talking to him on the phone and thought I called the police, because as soon as I started talking, the gate magically opened.
Again, fuck Amazon.

As someone who has worked both sides of this situation. That empty traiker you took was already set aside for a dock door that was about to have its fully loaded trailer pulled out and set aside for pickup. By taking it, you fucked the whole building by stopping outbound loads on that dockdoor until they can secure a new empty trailer. The jam can potentially go all the way from the picking department to the outbound department. Imagine hundreds of people inside told to stop working until they get the all clear. Sometimes they even send people home if the back up is bad enough. If they only have 2 more empty trailers, they have to request an empty trailer be brought to the yard from the driver network or hope the hours long emptying out of a trailer on the inbound side of the dock is almost cleared out.

My company does not pull Amazon loads out of that warehouse
mistman23@reddit
Not the point. What you did can get your company suspended from pulling for Amazon system wide.
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Good fuck em. They dont own me or my equipment.
omni461@reddit
Something like 97% of all outbound loads ARE Amazon owned trailers. Live loads are a rarity. I dont think you know what you're talking about.
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Good then they have a trailer they own they can use. I do know what im talking about. Every little shit head security guard who thinks they can tell me I can't leave the yard with my equipment will lose the argument.
omni461@reddit
Who hurt you?
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Feel like Ive already said it. Corporations who think they own me. The same ones hurting you.
Ok-Combination7287@reddit
Sorry about it, you are just wrong. If you worked for me i would fire you on the spot and make sure Amazon knows I did it in my apology letter.
Perhaps this isn't the career for you.
Captain_Wag@reddit
You'd fire him and write an apology letter to amazon? 🤣 Definitely found the right career for you. You were born to be a boot licker. "Perhaps this isn't the career for you." Such a corporate cock sucker line to say.
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Haha okay lol there's a reason you dont own a company. I dont work for you and wouldn't. I make more than you too im sure.

My guess is Western Express

Look brother, Im not taking sides here. We all know Amazon logistics suck. Im just letting you know the different angles on this. Luckily I was single and going to college when I worked there, but a lot of people feed their families with these low paid hours. Potentially cutting hundreds of people's paychecks short, for what? I dunno, you do you.
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Low pay? They make better than some drivers.
PrivatePilot9@reddit
Good lord, you just believe anything you hear and read on the internet so long as it fits your preconceived notions, huh? While simultaneously raging against anything that you perceive as inFrInGinG mAh fReeDoMS.

BuT wHaT aBoUt the OpS fEeLiNgS??
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Who gives a fuck. Thats their problem. Come up with a better solution. Its not their trailer and im not their employee.
Lokisworkshop@reddit
was it your personally owned trailer you grabbed?
ParticularArrival111@reddit
Idk I'm not op.
decaboniized@reddit
Welcome to automated India bullshit. So glad I finally left Amazon two years ago. Garbage ass company and relay is pure utter shit.
shorthaulexempt@reddit
LTL guy here, fuck Amazon deliveries!
SwampCruizer@reddit
Usually the offsite lot is in a different county as well. Indeed fuck Amazon.
potatocross@reddit
Ive found if they dont want you to leave the easiest way out is to tell them you will turn around and come back in. Usually they are dumb enough to do it and I am on my way down the road. Just say there is someone behind you so you cant back up.
APizzaWithEverything@reddit (OP)
I tried that, and he immediately said there was no one behind me 😂
