Going to be a dope looking hearse.
KingMario05@reddit
Good. It's a Ferrari. If it looks normal, you're doing several things dead wrong.
strongmanass@reddit
Ferrari styling is generally quite restrained IMO. It naturally looks striking because of the proportions, but that's just function. I find the actual ornamentation for wow factor subdued compared to Lamborghini, Pagani, Koenigsegg, even Maserati and Aston Martin's recent supercars.
I'd call Ferrari the most "normal-looking" of the supercars.
bwoah_gimmethedrink@reddit
Have you seen the post-Pininfarina Ferrari models? They are DESPERATE to look different and unique, meanwhile most Aston Martin or Maserati sports cars look pretty classy. One of the few exceptions was the Aston Valiant which looks like a car from GTA.
J_NonServiam@reddit
I always liked the 458 and F12 era Ferrari design language. Aggressive but very pretty cars.
willpc14@reddit
Fuck me for thinking it should also look good
Vladraconis@reddit
My man, that car has an armoured vehicle worth of camouflage panels on it.
That's not an ugly car, that's actual camouflage done right.
budgefrankly@reddit
How do you know it doesn't look good under all that camo?
TommyTosser1980@reddit
Who cares, it's just another electric transport.
BoxBoxBox888@reddit (OP)
It's gonna be a breadvan!
budgefrankly@reddit
Looking at the lights peeping through, the bonnet is way lower than the camo indicates.
The same is true for the rear, where there's clearly a lot of air between the top of the camo and the top of the car.
The rear seems to have round tail-lights reminiscent of the 90s Ferraris from F40 to 458, which I'm a fan of. Front lights look to be more inspired by the Purosangue, which I'm not a fan of.
I know how much this sub thrives on EV ragebait, but it'd be nice if we could actually speculate about the car instead of just preemptively saying it's shit because it's missing a fuel-tank.
Rule1-Cardio@reddit
Could that rear camo be hiding a wing?
918Spyderrr@reddit
Notchback/sedan
Vladraconis@reddit
That car has an armoured vehicle worth of camouflage panels on it.
It doesn't look wacky, it's actually camouflaged. We are not supposed to know how it actually looks.
How are people missing this.
Prize-Meat7508@reddit
Is this the one that’s supposed to have that Fisher-Price-looking interior designed by Jony Ive that we saw a while back, or is that a different concept?
budgefrankly@reddit
No, current Ferraris have Fisher-price interiors with plastic everywhere and bullshit capacitive buttons.
This is the new one, with the interior made from precision-cut metal and glass. It also replaces the low-red LED screen with mechanical instrument binacles with high-contrast OLED backgrounds.
Prize-Meat7508@reddit
Hey, I’ll never disagree that a car like this should have top-notch materials throughout, and whatever emotions are evoked by a design are obviously highly subjective.
But materials aside, the first things that ran through my mind upon seeing pictures of that interior were: cartoon, sterile, soulless. It just didn’t evoke anything special in me. YMMV, of course, and those pictures may not have been the final version for all we know. We’ll see.
Gummyrabbit@reddit
Is Mad Max going to climb out of it?
MrIncredible222@reddit
The only thing that will look worse is its depreciation curve.
budgefrankly@reddit
Yeah, nothing worse than normal people being able to afford a Ferrari, amirite? We've got it keep them for the prestige class only.
EmperorOctavian@reddit
I hope looks crazy as hell and that it makes all you boring people on this sub cry.
GeneralCommand4459@reddit
Release it exactly like this. Just do it. Everything else is crazy anyway.
zeekayz@reddit
If they somehow out ugly the just revealed electric AMG GT, I'll eat my hat.

Agreed. An electric Ferrari is madness. Think they'll regret this one
threeinacorner@reddit
Eh, I think there's enough room in the market for an electric Ferrari. I mean, most people often equate Ferrari to the engines they make, but Ferrari are absolute vehicle dynamics masters. It's actually the part of them that impresses me the most. Like, from everything I've seen and heard, they're really really good at using electronics to enhance vehicle dynamics in a natural way, with their SSC and recently the TASV. So yeah, I'm interested to see what they cook up this time.
strongmanass@reddit
There's a conceptual issue that I think doesn't get enough attention. EVs can do things dynamically that ICE cars can't. If you have four motors each motor can adjust that wheel's speed and suspension travel independently and much faster than an LSD in an ICE car (I know I don't have to tell you any of this).
But too much of that doesn't feel natural to most drivers, or it removes a sense of accomplishment or perceived connection to the car (Cammisa discussed it in this Lucid Air Sapphire review). So the dynamics goal often changes to make the EV feel familiar to the driver instead of making the best dynamic vehicle possible. From a commercial perspective I get it. You need to give people what they want. But I'd still like to experience the end result of just making the best cornering vehicle without regard to what feels familiar.
I'm not sure I'm conveying this sensibly. I guess it's like if appliances could be made to run silently but manufacturers had to add noise because people think their fridge isn't working if it's totally silent.
threeinacorner@reddit
No yeah I totally get it.
It's like when Chris Harris reviewed the SF90 and he turned off the stability control for the first time, the car got way harder to drive because he can now really feel what the front motors are doing without the electronic stability control smoothing things out and making it feel natural to him.
Definitely having four motors means you can do torque vectoring much much faster and with much more granularity but yeah it may result in some unnatural feeling.
Also similar to how Ferrari and Porsche still allow some lean in their cars equipped with active suspensions, because otherwise it would just feel too weird.
BWFTW@reddit
Honestly ferrari is doing this the right way by just adding it to the lineup. Not discontinuing any existing products to add this to the lineup. People are pissed at the Cayman / boxster ev because for a while that meant no petrol version. Now that's all up in the air but ya.
threeinacorner@reddit
Yeah, I agree with you. Even as an EV engineer, in my opinion there will always be a place for ICE in the enthusiast and motorsports segments. Which is why I don't necessarily agree with companies like Porsche and Alpine replacing well-received models with EV only versions, although as you said, some backtracking is happening.
notsogosu@reddit
A Ferrari you can daily? I thinks it’s gonna be big if priced right.
Morbidly_Off_Piste@reddit
I think Ferrari knows how important this car is and they're going to nail it.
Thejeepwrangler@reddit
Anyone that thinks this is anything what it’s going to be shaped like needs to look closer. You can clearly see there is an almost two inch thick fiberglass shell over almost the entire car. This is heavy camo. They didn’t want anyone to be able to even guess at what’s underneath and they’ve done a great job. This is the type of camo I would always like to see. Let’s go back to when we were getting real surprises!!
colinshark@reddit
Could be interesting and fresh. I'm kinda excited. FF vibes.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
going to be so disappointed if a Ferrari $600k+ flagship ev has a visible radar/sensor module in the big 26
like, so disappointed anyways, but add that to the list
Kmaaq@reddit
Manzoni did comment on this once. He was asking the radar manufacturers to release a smaller, more discreet unit
Hustletron@reddit
I think it looks badass on some Volvos and Audi products. Porsche does a good job, too.
But I like fighter jets and you can see sensors and stuff all over those machines. I also believe those look badass.
OreeOh@reddit
Some brands cleanly incorporate it into their brand's logo. Meanwhile, shiny black square on your S class, front and center
hi_im_bored13@reddit
Even the plastic logos are shoddy, the range rovers have been seamlessly designing around & integrating it into their bottom grill for \~5yrs now?
There is a fair bit of hate on the gloss black fascia of the neueue klasse 3-series but it pulls this off well too by hiding it in the beaver grill (iirc?)
Medical-Dependent580@reddit
Do we actually know for sure this is the final design, or are these just early prototypes people keep spotting?
FrozenUruguayBallbac@reddit
all im seeing is a ferrari wagon
costafilh0@reddit
Even if it looks awesome. Who cares. Still an EV.
Worked for RR, doesn't mean it will work for Ferrari.
But who knows, maybe it does.
I hope it at least looks beautiful, it would be a good change for Ferrari, no beautiful models since the F12 and 488.
ikilledtupac@reddit
wtf is that
ZenXw@reddit
I just can’t get excited about an EV costing this much.
MrDerpGuko@reddit
Thats either really good camouflage or Ferrari is remaking the Nissan Stagea. Im fine with either lol
Bitter_Cat_8793@reddit
every time i see a new angle i feel differently about it. wild that the reveal is this close
Manny_Bothans@reddit
takes off zebra panels seductively...
omg it's just an electric 1998 mitsubishi eclipse underneath!
BWFTW@reddit
Would be 1 million times better than the eclipse we got haha
mishap1@reddit
Shape looks more 1994.
StinkySoggyUnderwear@reddit
Luckily, it looks like a shell on top of a silver car underneath it
strongmanass@reddit
"Car still under camouflage before reveal date."
What a scintillating story.
fiero-fire@reddit
Now that's how you camouflage a car
RadioFieldCorner@reddit
what the fuck
