I will be starting on the 737 in a few months. I’m seeking advice from anyone who has done something similar

Mind sharing what company? I am flying a 208 and ready to move on.

I went the other direction. 737 to Caravan with steam gauges . Fun flying again.

Moving from a slower single engine turbo prop to a jet is always a leap, but people do it.
The jet is much faster even in the terminal area (especially if it’s a longer variant, your approach speeds are going to be higher than your cruise speeds in the 208). Think ahead, don’t let the airplane fly you.
Slow your flows down and verify what you’re doing. Doing the flows fast doesn’t make you better. There is no EICAS or ECAM to back you up. Just a panel designed in the 60s that is a lot at first, but it’s very logical once you learn it.
Know your flows, call outs, procedure, memory items and profiles cold. If you have memorized those things before you get to training, it’s once less thing to worry about.
In that regard. Don’t just rote memorize them. You need to be able recall them and apply them. Throw a tennis ball in the air and catch it while you’re studying, try to simulate distractions.
I can’t emphasize this enough: Fly the jet. Think ahead. Don’t ever let the airplane go where your mind hasn’t already been. Back VNAV up with the 3:1 rule, plan for slowing down (a big transition from a 208 to any jet).
It’ll be a fire hose for you. But it’s possible. And very exciting! Embrace it and the 737 is a great jet.

It's a pretty basic jet. When you add thrust, it'll pitch up, and when you reduce it, it'll pitch down - you'll need to trim in both cases. Know your limitations and memory items. If you see half of the overhead light up at the same time, start diagnosis with electrics.
You'll find the deadband during rotation annoying, but you just have to pull through it (not too much, though). Don't try to grease it on landing, the FCTM technique works very well in keeping you away from the runway excursion statistics.
Have fun!

Went from a C172 to a B737-800 a couple years back. Definitely felt like I was drinking through a firehouse in the school house. Helped a lot that I overstudied the systems in preparation for the oral, felt confident and the system knowledge can help during sims. At least with Non normals in diagnosing the issues without EICAS.
Just learn your flows and have your profiles down cold before the full flight sims and listen to your instructors feedback. FMS can take a bit to learn, but that will come with time and practice. Best of luck!

Flare a bit higher.

Just listen to the instructors. Cooperate to graduate.
