Should I put two 15s in the Rogue?

That title should make sense to our generation leaning on the Gen-X side.
Context: My 20 year old beater car is finally on the quits so we had to buy a new one. After shopping around (being harassed by car salespeople for 2 weeks), we closed the deal on a new on yesterday.
Of course that one becomes the family (wife's) car and I get the 2015 Rogue as a hand me down to commute to work.
Now that the Rogue is "my" car, I am allowed to do stuff to it. Should I live out my dream as a 17 year old and throw two 15s and a Kicker amp in the trunk? I can forget about the 5 disc CD changer since that's obsolete. But maybe an equalizer and sick dash radio?
In 1998 I was in Circuit City talking to the audio guy and about to drop $400 on a setup for my Suzuki Sidekick (about 3 pay checks as a grocery store bagger and $800 in today's money). When they brought me the paperwork to sign saying that I am giving them consent to cut my dashboard for the installation I chickened out and left (my parents would have killed me).
I'm from Central FL and from the late 80s to the mid-90s there was a audio shop on every corner. "Bass Culture" was a big thing.
I lost most of the interest in this stuff but it would be fun to pull up at school pick up with a booming Rogue. For nostalgia's sake.

Tubby shipmate of mine who dubbed himself Beefcake re-enlisted for 60k (navy nukes ftw) when we crossed over into a tax-free zone
When we got back he dumped 10k of it into a sick sound system for his piece of shit brown chevy s10 and was just extremely pleased with his decision lmao
Fucking Beefcake, good lord
Ok-Brick6831@reddit
I think I might work with Beefcake now.
IrememberXenogears@reddit
Similar story, air force, we had a guy in my shop who also did his reenlistment in the AOR and when he got home he dumped about 15g into his 1997 cavalier. Body kit, subs, you name it. Fucking ridiculous ass car.
RemydePoer@reddit
If you have two 15s and a rogue, I'd suggest putting them in CON for the HP boost and either WIS for Perception or INT for Investigation, depending on how your DM rules searching for traps. Or you could drop one into CHA for Persuasion and Deception. Obviously with a rogue you're going to need more in DEX than the +2 that you'll get with a 15.
Netwrayth@reddit
This is where I went first too
I_HaveSeenTheLight@reddit
I just started buying CDs again and wish I had a CD changer in the car. My current car has a sub for the premium radio package and it definitely takes me back to my high school days. I entered a contest one year, had two 15s and each with their own 700 watt amp and my rear view mirror ended up falling off 🤪
BlankPaperTiger@reddit
Not only would I put two 15's in the vehicle, I'd go searching for a 5-disc changer too.
SickOfNormal@reddit
My local thrift had a nice Pioneer 5 disc changer for $5 ... shame OP wasn't there.
But IF I wanted to "enhance" a Nissan Rogue - All the doors have 6.5 in speakers --- ebay has 2 packs of 6.5 Cerwin Vegas for $100 each --- x2. Put some altec 2.75 tweeters in the dash. And then put 2 15 inch JBLs in the back. Full range audio Nissan ready to go. Prolly come out to under a grand, but OP would be having the time of his life. You get a little of all the audio flavors of jbl, altec and CV. (And don't be one of those people knocking CV cuz their a "party" speaker.... OP gonna be having a party in his SUV)

Make sure the subs hit so hard the cd skips!
cmgww@reddit
You definitely should but please, for the love of God, put some dynamat or other sound deadening material under your license plate. Nothing sounds more lame and janky and some car with a huge stereo and a rattling license plate
budrow21@reddit
Four 15a didn't see no wires And then I heard boom from the amplifiers.

When I bought my truck in 2020, the Rockford Fosgate branding was admittedly part of the purchasing decision. Due to its tight integration, I said “eh, the factory one will do fine” and in that moment, I realized i was old. The factory sub doesn’t offset any of that.
In my youth, I was a MECP certified installer and had always ditched the factory stuff regardless of complexity. I’ve built and had systems for the past 30+ years and smelled enough fried voice coil to last me a lifetime.
Do it, carry on where I have rested.
impliedapathy@reddit
As a teen I lived in a small rural Indiana town. Me and 2 friends had systems. We’d announce when we were leaving for school by bumping hard enough we could hear each other from the other side of our small town (roughly 1700 townsfolk not including outskirts). I’m sure we impressed everyone at 0730 😂

My first car was an 89 Galant with two crappy 12”s and a 1000W amp. Intergalactic and Freak on a Leash hit HARD lol. My current car has a factory 10” JBL woofer and that’s enough for me now lol

By the title I thought you were talking about putting points into your Rogue D&D character. +2 points into Sneak, +3 to Dex, and the rest into Find/Sense Trap

I have a 2014 Nissan pathfinder that is paid off and just rotting in my driveway. My wife and I both drive company cars and have a Durango that she pays on. I’m thinking about doing the same thing to the pathfinder. A couple of 12s and an amp. Then I was thinking about getting a lift and big tires and having some kind of custom brush guard made up for the front lol. It’s like one of those family pathfinders …not the off-road kind, but I think it’d be cool to do that shot to it.
Maybe someday I’ll do it
S_A_R_K@reddit
Honestly, that's gonna take up the whole cargo area. A quality 12" in a sealed box and investing some $ and time in sound deadening will give you all the bump you need with excellent sound quality. I installed a few different sub setups in my car and by far my favorite was an infinity kappa 12" with a JL Audio 500w mono block amp.
PokerbushPA@reddit
As much as I enjoy nostalgia...no. The tinnitus isn't worth it.

If it’s in the same cabin you could get away with one 15 🔈

do it, and buy one of those iPod classic 5th gen’s that have been refurbished with a new battery and 2TB of flash storage.
rantingpacifist@reddit
I didn’t put a big system in my 1996 Tacoma, but you bet your ass I replaced the stereo and speakers. It sounds much better and is money well spent.
Do it yourself. I can’t remember where I got mine but it came with the harness and everything I needed.
theislandhomestead@reddit
I put a 10 in my tacoma.
My mother in law asked my wife why she's letting me ruin my truck.
Lol
Superb-Self-1365@reddit
Not sure I got the correct question but the answer is definitely JL Audio subs and amp!! I'm 49 and just helped my 18 yr old set up two MB Quart 10s and JL Audio amp! He is very happy! I just picked up a kicker 12 in a ported box to toss in my work cavalier!!

You forgot the word “when” at the beginning of your question.
“When should I…?”
Hntrbdnshog@reddit
When I was younger I was really into car audio. Multiple systems in different cars over the years. At one point I had 2 Rockford 15s powered by a 1200w Audiobahn amp in a 2 door Blazer plus another amp for the highs and a few capacitors to keep my battery going. That shit thumped so hard.
Vibrating everyone’s windows out of their frames lost its appeal though and now I’m fine with whatever the premium audio system is in whatever car I buy. I can’t justify the additional cost. You should totally do it though if you have the cheddar.
Ok_Degree3037@reddit
Do it - you will find every loose screw in the vehicle. Also 12s don’t miss like 15s.
Drum_Eatenton@reddit
This is what I came to say, 12s hit super hard and can hit higher frequencies
Separate-Relative-83@reddit
Do it! I had a bandpass box in my Jeep wrangler instead of a back seat. It was bolted to the frame. Also 6” speakers on the roll bar, and new ones in the dash. I loved it.
Blue_Eyed_Devi@reddit
I had a scion XP back in 2006 when I was 27 years old and with $1200 worth of stereo equipment made it go boom. (We like the cars, the cars that go boom).
It was therapeutic for a kid who grew up poor.
Go for it

Impossible_Diet6992@reddit
I used to have a huge bandpass box in my car as a teenager but stopped putting systems in my car for years. I caught the bug again. Technology changed quite a bit. You don’t need as many watts to power these speakers new speakers. I have one Skar SDR 12” and that enough for me and still have some trunk space
edasto42@reddit
Ask yourself how often you’d actually use them for what you’re intending them to do? Also ask yourself, are you just trying to chase down some version of yourself that time forgot or is this something you truly enjoy? Is this consumer nostalgia masquerading as self expression?
youbeyouboo@reddit
A really nice Accord was behind me yesterday and they were pumpin bass. It’s was amazing. I was all head bopping to the rattle. I was 30 years younger for a sec.

I say hell yes go for it. I fondly recall installing a box with two 15" kickers and a Thunder 280 amp into my 1989 Ford Aerostar back in the mid 90's.
