Meh.
claspen@reddit
So the early preproduction units that were leaked had placeholder T rex badges, pretty interesting.
Slightly missed opportunity for a hurricane 6 version. Like a sort of Ram GTR
chromhound@reddit
More versions coming depending on the demand
ProAmCanAm@reddit
The Hemi ditches the e-torque mild hybrid setup altogether, but does adopt a Multi-Displacement System to reduce pumping losses in the cylinders at low load
I’d rather have a mild hybrid than cylinder deactivation
Midgetsdontfloat@reddit
They've had cylinder deactivation for 12 years in the 5.7 and it hasn't been an issue. The mild hybrid system, however, has been.
The camshaft/roller issues the 5.7 has had are down to poor oiling at an idle, cylinder deactivation has been an absolute non-issue in the Hemi. Excessive idling, however, poses a problem
Linton_M@reddit
I saw a police Durango with high idle hours get the cam issue at around 100k miles so it’s got to be the oil issue. There are aftermarket oil pumps to provide higher volume/psi at idle
Moth92@reddit
What counts as excessive idling?
driftking428@reddit
Damnit GM, get in the game!
mgobla@reddit
They should use the ZR1 engine for a truck, over 1000 hp.
Wsswaas@reddit
you think the escalade V AWD can take it? I do
AwesomeBantha@reddit
Give us the Escalade W, cowards
driftking428@reddit
Even the Z06 engine would be insane.
mgobla@reddit
A low torque engine would be completely out of place for a truck. That would be like using a motorcycle engine for a car.
Negative_Acadia6554@reddit
Ram: What if a pickup truck could also win a drag race against your financial stability?
RedWire75@reddit
Which is higher: your quarter mile time or your loan interest rate?
badcrass@reddit
Both the truck and interest are in the 12s
KyledKat@reddit
Assuming 12% for their target demographic is quite generous.
rivermesh@reddit
That's per month.
drfsrich@reddit
"It's a 392. The size of the engine in cubic inches as well as the credit score."
lunaticfridgeprime@reddit
Let me get through my DUI hearing before you ask me such profound questions
RedWire75@reddit
I mean, it’s their 4th DUI. Should be second nature by now.
RustyNK@reddit
I wonder how many dudes making 60k are going to take out maxed term loans for these?
blainestang@reddit
I’m glad stupid stuff like this exists. That said, the yellow one’s front bumper is crazy ugly. The sharp, squared-off styling doesn’t match the rest of the truck at all.
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
I am glad to see muscle trucks but they gotta have the worst timing and or bad market experts. Stagnant job growth, 5 buck gas and rising, federal entities (largest employer) with budgets slashed and people fired, international trade partners going elsewhere to avoid R America and it's nonsensical tariffs and mud slingjng. This leading to a forecasting of independent farms going bankrupt and also a looming war economy causing hesitation in the markets. Ram is i guess not tired of winning just yet.
iantimothyacuna@reddit
the kind of people who buys these kinds of vehicles are absolutely not worried about any of that stuff you just listed
its gonna be a combo of people who finance everything at extremely high interest rates regardless what the economy is like and rich people who will always have disposable income even if the world was ending
BettmansDungeonSlave@reddit
Anyone buying these has the funds to blow on expensive toys and doesn’t have to worry about inflation. That or just put it all on financing with the lowest possible monthly payment. Repo man is busy. Should be awhile before he gets to these trucks
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Your comment will be funny in a couple years. Just wait.
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
I don't get what you're saying lol. Its sad now and I wish it would be funny in the future, but cause and affect says it's going to get a lot worse.
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
“The sky is falling”
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
Lol. Yeah gas rising isn't real, statistics on job growth not real, public traded entities having to disclose their lack of trade agreements that used to be routine not real, China refusing to purchase soy from the US and instead buying it from SA in multiple year contracts meaning the US soy market lost basically it's only buyer for a decade. Head in sand living must be nice. Keep enjoying the wins brother!
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Your comment will be funny in a couple years. Just wait.
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
Don't look up, just trust your betters to piss some prosperity down to you while you lick their boots.
BeanerCounter@reddit
Makes them ripe for a future collectible!
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
Haha true. I have had that thought on the failure of the electric challenger but the dealers nearby are holding firm on their msrp so far.
BeanerCounter@reddit
I bet Stellantis is paying the dealers massive incentives to keep them from selling at a lower price. So if someone pays MSRP, the dealer may get a $10k cash incentive so that they’re not hurting the resale values on them.
Kidcharlamagne89d@reddit
I bet you're right. I check their prices occasionally and the same lot# ones are there everytime I check, seems like they'll have to try and move them at some point with a huge deal.
peakdecline@reddit
Kudos to Ram. This is not my cup of tee at all but they've done this right.
Three engine options, multiple performance packages providing different levels of suspension and drivetrain options. This provides a huge range of choices for buyers across a wide range of prices. Also on a bespoke, for this generation Ram, frame length. First time the 392 has come to the Ram.
That's honestly really great work. That's shocking levels of listening to the enthusiasts in this day and age.
Midgetsdontfloat@reddit
I mean, the fact that they included the 5.7 is fantastic purely because it may actually be an attainable price point for these trucks. The other two are going to be easily north of 100k CAD, but having an attainable base model will mean you might actually see a few of these on the road.
GymLeaderMatt@reddit
Idk mang. Totally agree, they are cool trucks but just wayyy too expensive for normal people.
I will not be shocked when they ask 99k CAD for the 5.7L. A 2026 Rebel with the Hemi is already 75k. The RHO with the Hurricane is 111k.
But I see videos of dealerships in the states with full lots of trucks that just aren’t selling. 2023s and 2024s still asking 75-90k USD. The greed is astonishing.
Moth92@reddit
Then add the luxury car tax, which is 10-20%, which makes it even more unattainable for me unless I win the lottery.
Vahlinn@reddit
Still going to be around $60k I'd guess, but I'll take that base model HEMI all day and have the seats reupholstered. The 5.7 is just simply a beautiful engine if you watch the lifters. Figure I have about $25k+ in positive equity on my Duramax plus whatever I can squirrel away in the next 8-mnths.
PresidentSuperDog@reddit
Or you could just buy a Rivian.
Dual-Motor AWD: 533 hp
Performance Dual-Motor AWD: Up to 665 hp
Tri-Motor AWD: 850 hp
Quad-Motor AWD: 1,025 hp
Vhozite@reddit
I’m not an EV hater but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the people interested in this aren’t interested in a Rivian (or probably an EV)
Vahlinn@reddit
You raise your pinky when you drink tea.
throwaway7x55@reddit
Hmmmm, full size pickup with a wide body and a Hemi or an electric motor mid size pickup, which is cooler? really tough call…
Routine_Event_5039@reddit
For the price of a small house they better kick butt.
Available-Goose-8331@reddit
You mean a shed in this economy
JEs4@reddit
Jesus Christ. 170 mph in a pickup. I want one.
Available-Goose-8331@reddit
To go 170mph in?
graverobber1@reddit
Now THIS is a product roll-out. I don't understand anybody who's nitpicking this. RAM deserves the success with this one, internal combustion lives on!
Kerwin666@reddit
Imagine the road rage capabilities with that unit
q0vneob@reddit
Does Ram still lead the DUI segment?
FrozenUruguayBallbac@reddit
bro come on dodge just put it back into the charger for fucks sake
HawtGarbage918@reddit (OP)
They'll sell 10x as many Rams with Hemis as Chargers with Hemis. I get why they're prioritizing the trucks first.
komrobert@reddit
Hemi in general - probably, but not by 10X. It was about 3X in 2023.
Charger (2+4 door) Hellcats will easily outsell the RAM with Hellcat engine.
CG_Ops@reddit
I think they're almost fully ready to commit to dialing everything to 11 and release a Hellcat Neon - 40% of the car's mass in motor. Hell, just fire-up the original assembly line/process and sell it for $30k. Or make it RWD and kick every other mfgr out of the drift scene.
Note: I don't actually believe/want any of this, but would love to see it play out. If the US it gonna go keep going full regard*, might as well make it worth watching
phdiesel_@reddit
It’s coming….most likely.
The STLA platform the Charger rides on was never intended to fit the Hemi and, as a result, won’t just go in without reengineering some components. I believe it was at the press release event for the Hurricane powered cars that Matt McAlear (Dodges CEO) said “Don’t be surprised if it’ll fit”.
Really just a matter of time. But Stellantis has successfully spun up the Hemi line quite quickly, and rolled out every “easy” Hemi relaunch. The Charger is the only one left.
As a completely uninformed observer of the car industry, I think it happens next model year.
BrandonNeider@reddit
My "insider" info is it's coming. Entire retooling of the STLA platform.
FrozenUruguayBallbac@reddit
Agreed, hopefully it will be lighter, have better aero and handle better than the old hellcat
phdiesel_@reddit
It’s unlikely it’s lighter. The HO Hurricane cars are about 300-400lbs heavier than a Challenger Hellcat. They’re also significantly bigger, so I guess the weight is “warranted”.
Handle better? Probably? Maybe not. Who knows. I actually lease an EV Charger and it’s a certified barge on back roads. The steering is awful as well. It’s an R/T so it doesn’t really have the pretense of being a sporty backroad car and weighs nearly 6,000lbs. Maybe they can add adaptive dampers and it’ll be fine.
The reviews of the HO Hurricane cars have regularly said it somehow rides worse than you think it should and handles worse as well.
ramsfan00@reddit
For those who know,
They are developing a new V8 to put into the charger and RAM moving forward.
DCLexiLou@reddit
Repo men are gonna stay busy for years with all the Dodge buyers out there!
caterham09@reddit
Objectively so much cooler than the Lobo F150s
Educational_Fox6899@reddit
News flash $100k is cooler than $60K truck. This is competing with the raptor R not the lobo IMO. I'd rather have the R myself or buy the lobo and throw a SC on it and have all the power and still $30K cheaper than the ram or the R.
BetweenFourAndTwenty@reddit
That $60k truck will quickly turn into a $70k truck once the glass 10 Speed in it decides to shit the bed.
Educational_Fox6899@reddit
lol people are racing these all the time with more power. You can literally buy a SC STX from ford for $50-$60k and it comes with a 3 year warranty. Are you honestly trying to attack ford reliability by citing RAM?
BetweenFourAndTwenty@reddit
RAM doesn’t have the best track record, but the ZF gearbox they use is just better than the 10R80.
peakdecline@reddit
The TRX is the competitor to the Raptor R. This is a totally different thing.
A Lobo with a supercharger gets you the power but not the complete package. There's a lot of work they did here with the suspension, drive train, and body work. All of which if you did aftermarket would likely push your price above the MSRP of one of these.
Educational_Fox6899@reddit
I guess you were typing. I edited the comment right after posting. Still comparing a $60k truck to a $100K truck. It's a dumb comparison.
peakdecline@reddit
Do you not see there are 3 different engines here, different performance packages too? Even if you just compare the Lobo vs the base Rumble Bee or the Rumble Bee 392 its clear Ram put a ton more work into these than Ford with the Lobo.
Educational_Fox6899@reddit
From the car and driver article it appears the lesser trucks do not get all the suspension stuff the SRT does. And while not a handler my f150 hybrid beats both the lobo and base rumble bee to 60 by a wide margin. The median trim would tie my truck. While subjective I hate the looks but that doesn't really matter in this context.
peakdecline@reddit
The base 5.7L is the only one that doesn't have the suspension available. The 392 can be optioned with it (per the article). They're all still getting unique to Rumble Bee features like the wide body and therefore room to fit the wider tires, the Borg Warner 48-11 transfer case, Brembo brakes,
Its cool if you don't want one, that's whatever, but you're just moving the needle regarding your Lobo comment at this point.
Educational_Fox6899@reddit
How so? You just said you have to go mid tier to get the suspension stuff? So now, you're at least $20K more than the lobo.
peakdecline@reddit
Because you don't need to buy the suspension upgrade for any version of the Rumble Bee to be a more complete and interesting package than the Lobo.
The true wide body and wider tires, the BW 48-11 transfer case for real AWD (with RWD-only mode still available), the Brembo brakes, and unique length frame are all more interesting than what Ford does to the Lobo... which is just not much.
We also just don't know pricing yet.
primetimecsu@reddit
youll end up spending 20-30k + labor to get a lobo close to the hellcat version after suspension and performance upgrades. and then you still have to deal with it being the base model f150.
These look to be optioned out as mid level trucks based on the interior picks, think Lariat vs STX trim level. So about 100k vs 100k.
Toyota_by_day@reddit
Lobo could have been so cool but it was just a gimmick..
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Lobo is just a half-assed margin play.
Lancer876@reddit
Quarter assed, not to be confused with quartered ass
sc0lm00@reddit
Hopefully this spurs them into making a real street truck.
BeastDynastyGamerz@reddit
The idea is there but the design execution is missing, the base and mid level truck are too lowered trx like which doesn’t work well with that design. That being said if the base had the HO i6 i would get it
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Couldn’t disagree more.
No you wouldn’t.
BeastDynastyGamerz@reddit
How are you gonna tell me what i would or would not get? I think the HO and SO i6 are better than the 5.7 and 6.4
Vahlinn@reddit
Buddy, nobody buying these wants that diseased sounding 6-cyl. The fact that they're putting the 5.7 as an option is absolutely outstanding. The 5.7 and 6.4 engine are quite possibley the best sounding v8s in production if you enjoy low revving angry displacement.
Hnry_Dvd_Thr_Awy@reddit
Easy. I simply type "no you wouldn't".
inconvention@reddit
I’d ask for a HO Hurricane, a big wing out the back, and orange paint. Bring back the Daytona cowards

RustyNK@reddit
I wonder how many dudes making 60k a year are going to take out maxed term loans for these?
PanadaTM@reddit
How long until the first video of one of these running someone over at a takeover?
OtterCreek_Andrew@reddit
If I’m reading this right the hellcat trim with 777 hp is rear wheel drive only and the lower powered trims are 4x4? If so I think that would be a huge mistake
Either way this is cool and I might actually get one if you can get them without paying a huge mark up over msrp
peakdecline@reddit
They're all using the Borg Warner 48-11 transfer case. What's unique here is that a rear-drive only mode is available. This is true for all trims, the Hellcat version is still by default in AWD mode.
Previously this transfer case was only used in the RHO and TRX and did not have a rear-drive mode available, those are always AWD/4WD.
OtterCreek_Andrew@reddit
Okay cool, thank you for the correction on that. I must have read it stupid.
If that’s the case I’ll be getting one. I’ve had 2 Rams and both have been great trucks.
speedinsh1t@reddit
Wish it was a single cab but it is still cool
Vahlinn@reddit
Honestly the quad cab true short bed is such a banger combo.
HawtGarbage918@reddit (OP)
At least they went with the shorter cab here.
nomptonite@reddit
Yeah, it’s actually a decent compromise if we can’t have the single cab
Sharticus123@reddit
Is the bed just a giant fuel tank?
Toyota_by_day@reddit
I can't believe it took this many years to have a hellcat engine street oriented pickup up but least they finally did it.
Vahlinn@reddit
......Well guess I have about 8-9mnths left with the diesel. This is a financial mistake that I'm 100% making. I have time to prepare haha!
Hywelthehorrible@reddit
American taste in vehicles is trash.
vhalember@reddit
Looks great!
The question will be cost. The R/T 392 Durango Premium can be ordered right now for $60k. I don't see that 392 truck touching that price... but hopefully.
Privateer_Lev_Arris@reddit
Imagine these with a lift kit
Lamborghini4616@reddit
Pigeon brained response
peakdecline@reddit
I do believe that's called the Rebel, RHO, and SRT TRX and Ram already makes them.
JGRACEFAN95@reddit
Gotta say this is pretty badass. The fact you can get this with all three engine variants is a win and making it AWD should help keep hellcat versions out of the ditch. My only wish is they would make a lil red express variant with exhaust pipes going up the side
Jamaican_Dynamite@reddit
Good to see the Rumble Bees return. In rare form no less.
NorCalAthlete@reddit
Next up: Dakota SRT

Kinda wish I hadn’t bought my truck earlier this year but I’m sure these will be considerably more than what I was willing to spend
