Thoughts on Allegiance

I recently rewatched Allegiance after a while and I think Picard was way too hard on the abductors. Yes he was kidnapped but they even stated correctly he was in no danger and was for pure curiosity. They never showed aggression or ill intent either, almost child like in their demeaner. Not to mention their incredible technology of cloning and teleportation and also their telepathy. Just seemed like a wasted opportunity for knowledge and a future ally to be dismissed in such an un-Picard manner.

It was more a stern reminder. They got off super light compared to what other factions would've done in return (the Chalnoth for example).

That’s how things roll in the Milky Way Galaxy. You assume that everyone else understands the nuances of your species and you chastise them if they don’t. The same way Klingons freak out if anyone isn’t a warrior and Vulcans roll their eyes at humans for not being logical enough. Basically everyone in space is super racist just not within their own species.

Yeah, episodic television.
"We shall never speak of this again!"
One thing I found odd about the episode was at the end when he trapped the aliens, it seemed like he had to do a lot of silent communications with multiple people just to let them know "Trap these guys here." You'd think it would be a lot easier, though I suppose it doesn't happen often.
