ATC radio

Going to RIAT in the summer in the UK and will be camping for arrivals and during the airshow. Looking for recommendations on radios and best way to program them so I can listen to the pilots/ATC as they come in.

FYI It’s technically illegal in the UK.
I doubt you’d be prosecuted but listening to ATC is technically illegal if you’re not a pilot.

Pick up any cheap radio scanner that is airband capable then look up for your locals what frequencies they use. For the US we have the website RadioReference, not sure if they cover the UK but I’m sure there’s a similar database somewhere.
ATC communications are still on AM bands so you don’t need anything fancy with trunking or digital reception.

OP will want one that does VHF and UHF airband though.
