Kardan Aydınlık is an Islamic nasheed rooted in 1970s Turkey. In the 1990s, it was sung in Islamist circles in reference to Bosniaks and Albanians, and later became associated with Palestine. In your country, are religious chants also used for political purposes?

And it's based on the ultra-right-wing poet Abdurrahim Karakoç's poem called "Aydınlık". He is one of the few good right-wing poets in the Turkish poetry scene, and many of his poems have been turned into songs. The most famous one is "Mihriban". This song "Kardan Aydınlık" had hardcore Islamist roots, but in the last few years became popular in the meme scene because of an edit made for ex-fenerbahçe coach.

[After this event](https://www.reddit.com/r/Turkey/comments/1tfq44o/srebrenitsa_faili_radko_mladi%C3%A7in_olay_an%C4%B1/) Turkish community was very traumatized and Bosnia became a very important topic in Turkish society. Many Islamic circles did sing this nasheed in the honor of Bosnians [as it is visible here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRlNvOSmcKI). The second wave as when 20,000 Kosovars [came ](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskBalkans/comments/uqtsyt/1999_refugees_from_k%F0%9D%94%ACsovo_arrive_in_turkey_the/)our country and we saw their sufferings. The massacre of Albanians and Bosnians basically made that nasheed very popular. Only after that it became associated with Palestine. [Erdoğan](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uV9_WYkB_bo) also recited it in his rallies, after that it gained a secular meaning and became a song that we attribute to our martyrs.

Shame that the biggest supporter Bosnia has is also its former oppressor and abuser. Talk about Stockholm Syndrome

I know. This is Gen. Thom Karremans, who were prosecuted to European Human Rights Court and was acquitted, for submitting Bosnian towns to Mladic, causing thousands of Bosnian to die. I'm waiting for the day that these pals, to be in charge of Bosnia's security instead of us. This is what Bosnians deserve. They should see the correct treatment of their European brothers. https://preview.redd.it/liembm6uog2h1.jpeg?width=625&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=419e15d7171ce9c2cdd738aed7cb5262d398615e

After being recited by Erdoğan, it song became a symbol of Martyrdom in Turkey. It is usually played in the background of videos containing the funerals of our martyrs.
