Since many Jews were a hated minority but well educated (reading is taught to everyone) they were traditionally forced to take Jobs in selling the fine Arts, Banking and Law. Being good in these professions and building a culture around them. However, many antisemites see this (alleged?) concentration of a minority in these powerful positions as problematic and proof for a jewish world conspiracy.
Israel and the Mossad aren't exactly helping regarding this assesment of the antisemites.
Knowing some Jews, if there is a global conspiracy, they were not told.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Literally no one except schizos and r-slurs blames all Jews
The fact is that Israel spends billions on propaganda every year to hide their war crimes
They lobby laws in every western nation that jail / criminalize anyone that speaks out against Israel

Redditors expose far too much of their personal lives online. It makes picking them apart far too easy.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Having a life to be proud of means idgaf when some random Redditor gets upset by my comments and feels the need to “pick me apart” 😉
ZyklonFart@reddit
So proud that you're having to change a part of your identity lmao
JustChillin3456@reddit
You’d do the same if it was for the love of your life

ZyklonFart@reddit
I don't hold any real allegiance to a country in the same way you don't have any possession over your foreskin.
lividtaffy@reddit
I think it’s weird how much uncircumcised people fixate on circumcision. If I were you I would just be secure in my body and beliefs and choose not to do that to my children. The fact that you feel the need to gloat about it opens you up to the fact that most women around the world find a circumcised penis more attractive, and I’m okay with being on the more attractive side of the argument when it comes to my sexual organs.

Why would you need to convert though? Since she’s Jewish, won’t your kid be automatically?
JustChillin3456@reddit
It’s so her family can go to our wedding
Her family is strict orthodox so they’re racist to non Jews
Dominus_Redditi@reddit
That’s kinda whack honestly. I don’t know if I could marry someone if their family hated me for being different. I wouldn’t expect them to change themselves for my parents to be happy
JustChillin3456@reddit
I’ve experienced prejudice since a child. What other people say / feel doesn’t bother me, sticks and stones
I just want to marry the love of my life
Dominus_Redditi@reddit
I admire your love and commitment to your wife. I just wish you didn’t feel pressure to convert from her family to have to feel welcomed, is all.
SedentaryNinja@reddit
There’s a lot of history and bigotry over the last 500 or so years towards and surrounding specifically Ashkenazi Jews that’s lead to the current day feelings about Jews marrying non Jews. It’s kind of silly, it’ll change over time if Jews are integrated more with society. American Jews aren’t putting as much emphasis on it. Sephardic Jews by comparison are much less worried about it, and most aren’t “purebred” in the same way. There was a lot more intermingling between the Muslims, Jews, and Christian’s at the time in those countries. What it really comes down to is tradition and your community. Different Jewish communities will have emphases on different things. I haven’t done a deep dive on this Redditor but it sounds like his partners family insists on him converting and is orthodox. He hasn’t mentioned if he’s kosher or if they are. Some orthodox believe that there is no real converting, and believe that if a convert breaks a single rule they aren’t really a convert. Chances are if they’re allowing their daughter to marry a convert they’re probably more progressive than their label would suggest.
What I can absolutely assure you is that converting is no joke, and if you don’t want it you can’t do it. You gotta want it, and are often refused the right to and have to “prove” your desire, as well as learn and study a ton of Torah. I wouldn’t think of it as this Redditor is being pressured to change, but more so that they want to be involved in their partners’ family’s traditions and culture, and most likely find it beautiful enough to want to join.
Dominus_Redditi@reddit
I am very familiar with how there are many different flavors of Judaism. I grew up in and still live in an area with a ton of Ashkenazi Jews, so that’s the group I’m most familiar with. Most of my friends were Orthodox though, I know that holds more of the religious teachings higher up as life priorities. I would describe most of the Jews I know as secular.
I understand wanting to immerse yourself in your spouse’s culture, but I think you’d be hard pressed to say this guy isn’t being pressured into this at least a little. As he said, they could disown her to pressure her not to marry him if they wanted to. I just think no matter the religion or culture, that’s bad. I’d say that if it was Muslims, Catholics, Hindus, whoever.
SedentaryNinja@reddit
I think as the world blends together more we’re going to probably see less pressure about the identity of who you marry, but in the meantime it’s just a result of thousands of years of tribalism. For instance, most places around the world same sex marriage is outlawed. A lot of families in the US wouldn’t allow their children to marry interracially or with certain religions. Whether he’s being pressured or it’s bad, I can’t say. Thats up to him. I can say that if you’re dating an orthodox jewish person you’re aware of what you’re signing up for.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Yea, she warned me from day 1
JustChillin3456@reddit

Some won’t accept me even after I convert.
JustChillin3456@reddit

LarryLiam@reddit
You’re forgetting usury laws.
In many places, it was seen as sinful for Christians to charge interest rates on other Christians, so effectively, they couldn’t really make profit while lending money, best they could do was go even. Iirc, Jewish people had similar laws.
But Jewish people could lend Christians money (and vice-versa), it was just that Christians were in the majority. Now, you’ve got a well-educated class that can make money with a service that was needed, but wasn’t really common. Of course they took the chance, especially since they were barred of many other businesses.
Mr_Evanescent@reddit

MetalUpstairs@reddit
Cool it with the antisemitic remarks
noteasily0ffended@reddit
The problematic part is the nepotism, the people five generations ago that laid the foundations for the modern film industry in New York and California were hard working and well versed in the entertainment industry with the skills they brought from Europe. But the biggest producers and studio execs today mostly got to their position by being raised up in an insular network of family favours and looking after their own first and foremost. Not exactly the paradigm of meritocracy.
StinkyMcShitzle@reddit
That makes no sense with the banking or law aspect. If a group of people did not like nor trust a group of individuals, then there is not a single chance that those very people would entrust the sanctity of their groups financial situation nor entrust the establishment of laws with the group of people that they despise.

Dayton, Akron, Cleveland, etc are all worse than Toledo. Toledo has nothing going for it but also nothing really bad either. It exists in a constant state of “it’s not that bad”

nummy_orange@reddit
It’s very disappointing to me that somehow all these shows find amazing actors, costume designers, makeup artists, special effects artists, set designers, and then they turn around the hire the worst fucking writers of all time that run everyone else’s hard work into the ground.
drynoa@reddit
I don't think anything is, that shit was satire with how bad it was.
normandy42@reddit
lol it’s not. I’d put it on par with the Stranger Things final season. Plot holes, inconsistencies, and a build up that doesn’t really amount to anything. Ending with a super sappy montage.
Id rate it a 4/10 season. Below average and even dog shit in some circles, but there are some good parts.
nummy_orange@reddit

You should only watch it for shits and giggles. Because there is only that. The season is stupid. The characters are stupid. They act stupid. They have stupid plot armor. They have stupid dialogues. The fight scenes are stupid. The ending is stupid.

Bro lowkey everyone is a psycho with crazy expectations. People love to whine about everything but I thoroughly enjoyed this season and the ending was great. People will whine that it strayed from how it should've gone but the comic literally ends with everyone dying and hughie being forced to kill butcher, this ending was better.

Worse than marvel shows in alot of ways because at least marvel will have decent fight scenes and not have a showrunner that obsessively appeals to the r/politics crowd to the detriment of the show
KodakKid3@reddit
tbh the political part of the show was the only aspect with any merit remaining. It wasn’t what brought the show down it was just horrible writing all across the board
Mr_Evanescent@reddit
It really wasn't. The political part of it is fodder for the kind of morons that say "DAE THINK CONSERVATIVES ARE STUPID FOR LIKING HOMELANDER?!?!1l?! IT'S MAKING FUN OF THEM AND THEY'RE TOO STUPID!! HA HA MUH MEDIA LITERACY!"

Idk I think the took shots everywhere and some people only focused on the ones they related to.
I remember there was the whole fake African roots bullshit a train, then the parody of the Pepsi advert to stop violence (actually those two are the same thing now I think about it).
You had shots at private churches, shots at the right, shots at the starlight supporters, shots at girl power
Idk, a lot of groups got laughed at, some of it landed better some of it was low hanging fruit, but obviously because the end focused on homelander so much I guess the most shots were made at his group.
champdude17@reddit
Season 1 especially took shots everywhere, but by season 4 it had devolved into "hur dur Trump bad".
guimontag@reddit
Seriously. They mocked both sides, the issue is just that one side's issues are things like insincerity or over-commitment to racial/gender issues, and the other side is sheltering literal nazis and endorsement of fascism lmao. 99% sure Kripke's gone on record to say almost exactly this.
Fyrefanboy@reddit

EnPassantLover@reddit
OH MY GOD HOMELANDER IS LITERALLY DONALD TRUMP GUYS IM LOSING ITTT BRAVO KRIPKE = Political Merit
Ridibunda99@reddit
The political part of the show was initially highlighted how corporations, above all else, valued power and money. They could step over the common man(trying to crush hughie with their lawyers) and try to appear as moral and progressive(maeve lesbian thing, a-train ads etc.).Their anti corporatist message was smart and nuanced.
After they started to focus heavily on starlighter vs homelanderer shit, story became an annoying circlejerk on how dumb conservatives are. Now the show essentially killed itself while trying to advertise its spinoffs and the endless piece of misery it tried to spawn in call of duty and other franchises to leech from the zeitgeist. It became an actual mockery of itself by the end. I am not sure how you would consider this ultimagely inferior change in message to hold merit.
HankMS@reddit
nah man.. it was really only annoying for at least 3 seasons. They through everything under the bus for their "shock humor" and political satire™ (which was so incredibly on the nose and in your face I feel like it was written by a 13yo)

Unironically, he got the part by begrudgingly doing an audition. The casting director was like "Perfect! Whatever you tapped into: that's what we're looking for."

s1 was so fucking good, s2 was good but s3 onward was such a fucking snoozefest. Anthony starr is genuinely briliant in his role but there is only so much a good actor can do to carry the show. Like wtf you mean homelander is about to lose it? for the 180th times and nothing happens.
metron556@reddit
Season 2 was just decent imo, it felt Netflixed, as in the 90 IQ execs saw its success and started meddling to the point it turned into a generic, soulless mess. The fact that the showrunners didn't seem to know where it's going and stuff was just happening didn't help either
I gave up at the beginning of season 3, I was already annoyed with the previous one so season 3 being shit made the decision really easy
ThatFuckingGeniusKid@reddit

Eric Kripke pulled a similar stunt in Supernatural, the beginning was good, the middle was very shit and boring, and then the slow burn to redemption and an actual good ending, what a ride that was tbh, I was so hyped up watching the last season.
I don't know whatever the fuck happened with The Boys? The first season was just a few guys bonded by tragic events caused by superpowered people, shooting the shit together and fighting the good fight to bring the tyrants down. It was modern, comical, dramatical. Hit all the right spots about hypocrisy, posturing, "never meet your heroes". And then it seems like he got a hard on for making fun of gen Z and doing terrible and gross jokes, blood out of arseholes, sex with animals (sea life), and of course the big one, Homelanders titty milk fetish. I get it, the show is satirical but I just think it went from satire to shitposting.
DeliriumRostelo@reddit
A giant chunk of the problems in the boys are also in supernatutal.
Even the structure of the stories are similar as far as trying to find a way to kill someone who seems to be unkillable.
Boricinha@reddit
Just worthy to mention that Eric Kripke stepped down on Supernatural after season 5 (i believe he mainly kept as a consultant after that point).
Then the show gets really messy with different directors being Sera Gamble, Jeremy Carver, and season 12 onwards was mainly Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb.
killian_jenkins@reddit
Nah its still too good showing right wing radicalisation so it will be talked about or referenced for decades to say the least.

Those are all manga, the endings suck because it's not in the writers interest to ever end it. Most mangakas will get one hit manga in their life, so they want to milk it till they are sick of writing it or their editor gives them 5 weeks to wrap it up.

wait you guys arent super interested in the asian chick and french guys fantastic arc and chemistry ?
Independent-Suit-835@reddit
This is the one show i thought would have the balls to do a dark ending, homelander wins, every cunt dies or bows down…
And we get the fucking disney ending???
KimuraXrain@reddit
I thought it started out really good in season 1 and 2 but then it just kinda went shit
Londtex@reddit
Not me. I never watched it.
nummy_orange@reddit
It’s very disappointing to me that somehow all these shows find amazing actors, costume designers, makeup artists, special effects artists, set designers, and then they turn around the hire the worst fucking writers of all time that run everyone else’s hard work into the ground.
LotusPetalsDeluxe@reddit
Jokes on you for watching the show by the Supernatural guys lmao. They had a 5 season show they pushed to nearly 20 out of greed using hot actors to exploit teen girl hormones. They start with good ideas and always ruin it by then stretching it out too long. Also over complicating things while also being too dumb to write all powerful/wise characters they love to use
TKRAYKATS@reddit
Five seasons of "fascism is bad, kindness is good"
ItssHarrison@reddit
Five seasons of “fascism is bad, asshole joke, character gets raped, joke about character getting raped, poop joke, asshole joke, sex joke, asshole joke, jerk off joke….”
TKRAYKATS@reddit
Looks like my sentence with extra steps
giggle_shift@reddit
Take that back you little shit

Vike92@reddit
Do shows need complex commentary on society for you to enjoy them?
Senior_Independence4@reddit
If the social commentary is gonna overtake the narrative like it did after season 3, yes.
nenad8@reddit
indeed
YorkPorkWasTaken@reddit
False, I watched two seasons of peak and half a season of dogshit
whousesgmail@reddit
I thought the show was good right up until the S3 finale
dcxr@reddit
It totally was. And the show ended >!the season 3 finale was set up anyways, just with Kimiko replacing Soldier Boy!<. Just ridiculous.
_cdk@reddit
just edit those scenes together directly in the middle, probably worth a rewatch
10YB@reddit
They wrote themselves into a corner back in S3, it didnt make sense how it all went down , but you know $$$ (MONEY)
_Addi-the-Hun_@reddit
yeah thats basically what he is say.
IndividualMix5356@reddit
Only season 1 was any good.
UKLord@reddit
4*
Talents@reddit
I stopped watching after season 3. The Herogasm fight was so garbage. The scene where Butcher + Soldier Boy go to punch Homelander, he ducks, and they punch the wooden wall behind him and it barely splinters just took me completely out of the show. You're telling me Homelander can be hurt be punches that barely splinter a wooden wall? Them punching the wall should have destroyed the building and caused the building to basically implode outwards.
By the talk I've seen, I'm glad I didn't watch s4 or 5.
EcruEagle@reddit
The fights scenes were always so ass. Idr what season but they fought in a TV station and essentially do no damage. Homelander is supposed to be Superman levels of strong but fighting him causes less damage than a Waffle House brawl
gjb94@reddit
Was trying to remember where I saw up to. For me just felt like it's too long at that point if Soldier Biy wasn't the Macguffin. I get its gonna be the kid but why hasn't that fucking happened yet then? The message of the show and the arcs of the characters have all been finished
jprogarn@reddit
So, explode?
frogsRfriends@reddit
Well it may actually just be plode if it’s inwards and outwards

baudmiksen@reddit
Think I watched most of season 1 then after that it was just super powers scene clips on youtube
EdziePro@reddit
Forst 3 seasons were dope up until that S3 finale. That's when I had this weird feeling everything was starting to go in the wrong direction. Finale was aight but the last 2 seasons wasted everyone's time.
Jaruxius@reddit
I quite enjoyed the first 3 seasons
Skypimp380@reddit
S1-3 were amazing but the writers forced themselves into putting the boys into hiding after they realised they still had 2 more seasons to make up for
heydoakickflip@reddit
For how shit the show is, it's still leagues better than the comics
rpodnee@reddit
I actually started reading the comic today and it is so much better than the show. Wow.
AdorableDonkey@reddit
I'm glad I stopped watching at s2, it was the right call
other-other-user@reddit
Real. I learned my lesson after watching season 3
PhantomCruze@reddit
Anon has an opinion and spent 10 minutes in a captcha to use it to farm updoots on reddit
JuanjoSwein@reddit
Season 1 of The Boys was one of the best seasons I've ever seen regarding TV shows, season 2-3 were great tbh, but then s4 happens, and you could think "well maybe this is just the typical season where they prepare you for things really going downhill in the final season", turns out the only relevant things are rushed in the final hour of the show, in that episodes they dedicate 10 minutes to each important character to wrap up their plot and that's it, they had 8 hours to do it, 1 per episode, but nah let's promote a spin off and let's have the characters wander around for 40 minutos every single episode. The only plots I liked this season are MM and The Deep ones honestly
centurion762@reddit
Joke's on them. I only watched 3 seasons.
Smorgas-board@reddit
S1 and 2 were good. 3 wasn’t bad but the downhill trend started. I didn’t even bother with 4 and 5
dangerousmacadamia@reddit
I mean
I watched all 15 seasons of supernatural so I guess fool me once, shame on him; fool me twice, shame on me lmao
I haven't watched the season finale of The Boys yet but I was really hoping that Kripke would do better with The Boys than he did with supernatural (I know he didn't write anything past season 5 BUT he thought it was the right path for how the show ended, so approval was given)
_Addi-the-Hun_@reddit
season 1-3 are kino. 1-2 being the best. 4 was so ass that i was ready for season 5. i wouldn't say they are unwatchable levels of bad, but u need to turn ur brain off and can still enjoy the spectacle
airfryerfuntime@reddit
I think the main thing that irritated me most was that there wasn't really any resolution through the last three seasons, it's just all Homelander all the time, for 24 straight episodes.
Molmor_@reddit
Not a lot of spectacle left, the budget plummeted
_Addi-the-Hun_@reddit
all i remember was a guy ran up someone else's penis in season 4?
AnAnonymousReddit@reddit
Sage's lobotomies were meant to instruct viewers?
_Addi-the-Hun_@reddit
lmao that is such an excellent way to put it, i can not believe i didnt see it
valkon_gr@reddit
Stopped after season 1. I don't trust any tv show after 2012.
pm_me_old_maps@reddit
I don't get it, it felt like a natural conclusion to the show. Why the drama?
Timekeeper98@reddit
I just want my boy to be able to fuck fish in peace
BirdyWeezer@reddit
They reversed the roles.
TruckerAlurios@reddit
Technically they still fucked. Just a bit.. Deep.
I_Am_Sharticus_@reddit
I don't mind the 7 minutes of cock per episode but they could have tossed in a titty or two.
Foolishly_Sane@reddit
I think I stopped watching after season 2, if it's over, people might stop talking about it.
Hopefully.
PomegranateHot9916@reddit
I dropped it on season3 why didn't you
Firm_Ad_5427@reddit
After a rewatch, the show is actually really strong for the first 2 or 3 seasons, and the seasons after have a few good episodes.
I thought I was just tired of the over the top nudity, black comedy and violence but nah the later seasons are just mediocre
Equira@reddit
i still haven't seen the finale, but i honestly really enjoyed this season. i think 3 and 4 were weak but for me 5 was a pretty good comeback, even with its shortcomings. Butcher and the gang are objectively my least favorite parts, and the Gen V crossover was lackluster, but everything with Homelander and the commentary on religion and politics felt very fresh and exciting for me considering this was a superhero show. i don't understand the "every episode this season is just filler" because i felt that at least one crazy plot advancement happened in each, even if there were low points
rek_city@reddit
Season 1 was pretty good, every episode onward is just downhill
romulusnr@reddit
Only reason I never watched The Boys is because I figured i'd be like "YAH, OKAY, I GET IT, I KNOW" constantly and that shit gets tired
Own-Effective3351@reddit
Show might be dogshit but it contributed a lot to the Meme Economy.
Survival_R@reddit
I enjoyed it
Ok-Film-7226@reddit
I am skipping the parts with Frenchie after I found out he wasn't French, nor had any connection to that country. I think it's extremely racist to let an Israeli depict a French person
paul2261@reddit
Stopped watching half way through season 2. I could see where this was going. Was fun while it lasted.
lightstrike778592@reddit
Three seasons of peak then two ass seasons more like
fluffynuckels@reddit
All the hate this shows getting feels so ducking astroturfed
KodakKid3@reddit
no one is paying us lmao, this is how any show is treated when it starts out great and then goes to shit. People still shit on GOT’s horrible ending to this day
my-27th-account@reddit
This show looked like buns out the gate. Glad I never pissed away my time
CircIeJerks@reddit
I mean, I really did expect a little scorched earth. The most we ever got was a 3 second scene in season 2 that was a “dream” sequence. What the absolute fuck dude. Whole 2 seasons is this V1 and virus. He finally gets V1 and nothing is to show for it. Literally not one thing he did he wasn’t able to without it. I mean what an absolute plunder dude.
ktsb@reddit
if in season 2 he had glassed that crowd or in season 3 gone full tyrant when starlight said she would leak the plane footage and followed through on his if they don't love me they will fear me speech. but instead they kept teasing that the show would do something interesting
HiveMindKing@reddit
Only 3 for me, thank god.
Ronoski@reddit
Im not ashamed to say that I like it and still do.
Definitely not as good as the first few seasons but still a fun watch for me.
FadedVictor@reddit
I haven't seen a single episode. I wonder if it's even worth starting now lol.
ZippidyZayz@reddit
First 3 seasons were brilliant, and you can kind of just end it there and come up with your own ending. Otherwise, se4 & 5 are not GoT level bad, just disappointing but there are good moments for sure
Longjumping_Belt_405@reddit

I haven’t watched one episode of it lol, I have better ways of wasting my time
MDeimos@reddit

n1g3r6356@reddit
this show was jewish as fuck, they went completely off the rails trying to shove down the political commentary, gore, and perverted shit down your throat as time went on
