The quintessential "Everyman Car"
Fenriss_Wolf@reddit
Is the plaque on the hood an original design element, or something that was added later?
With a car like this, it's difficult to tell...

Added later

Nothing says elegance like crawling to your seat in a fancy gown.

A Homer J joint
SchnellFox@reddit
Far from RR's Spirit of Ecstasy, this ride has Mohs Crow for the hood ornament.
Inevitable_Yak_3975@reddit
Oh my god you entered the car from the rear? That's insane.
lynivvinyl@reddit
So you walk down the red carpet to enter the Opera?
Tleilaxu_Gola@reddit
Crawl if you’re over 4’2”
X10SIVMKII@reddit (OP)
Reminds me of how you’d enter a jet, plus the aisle between the rows of seats gives it an aircraft vibe
Null42x64@reddit
the wheels of this car looks like a clock
arte4arte@reddit
This is what happens when someone with no knowledge of basic design theory tries to design a car. Forget the ugly part, (which is glaringly obvious), I'm talking safety. Imagine trying to get out of this thing in a rollover crash and the car is on fire....There's only one way out. Imagine Homer Simpson or Elon Musk trying to design a vehicle...(Oh, wait....)
djscoots10@reddit
Neat
HiTork@reddit
FYI, this thing is built on an International medium duty truck chassis, so it handles like a dump truck.
ArriDesto@reddit
Mohs built a vtol flying car.
I have heard the name many, many times, but never seen the actual car. Huge, elegant and spectacular.
Wouldn't want to be the one putting petrol in it,though!
Diogenes256@reddit
This guy was also the father of the Mohs SafariKar that was once displayed at the Harrah's auto museum in Las Vegas. It was like this but worse in it's own horrible ways. Completely covered in thick Naugahyde, ostensibly to deflect rhinos, I guess. They also had one of Hitler's limos there which was, ahem, a bit controversial.
X10SIVMKII@reddit (OP)
I’ve now seen both of the surviving SafariKars! This one’s also at Historic Attractions
X10SIVMKII@reddit (OP)
I’ve seen both of the two surviving SafariKars now! This is also at Historic Attractions, and the other came to the Greenwich Concours some years ago
svideo@reddit
What's the microphone for?
enwongeegeefor@reddit
It looks like it might have been some kinda sightseeing tour vehicle.
X10SIVMKII@reddit (OP)
This vehicle’s successor, the SafariKar, was a luxury sedan intended for big game hunting…perhaps it’s a sign of things to come
paranach9@reddit
Is that an SM-58?
leglesslegolegolas@reddit
SM-57. The SM-58 has the big round grille.
TransEuropeExpress72@reddit
Put Bentley or Rolls Royce badges on it and it could believably be a new release. They’re not building anything prettier lately ! 😀
ZaphodBeeblebrahx@reddit
Big Time Canyonero vibes on that front end
RealTurbulentMoose@reddit
Also, The Homer — the grille totally looks like it. Even has the elaborate hood ornament.
Snikle_the_Pickle@reddit
What museum is this?
IWannaPorkMissPiggy@reddit
Historic Auto Attractions Museum in Roscoe, IL.
Luminox@reddit
The Homer?
Snikle_the_Pickle@reddit
Bruce Mohs even looks like Homer
TiredOfBeingTired28@reddit
So...it like a boat..enter from the rear.
Neat...
Car better be a boat of a car in size to full fit it.
