Anyone know if the ring here, where people used to sit, will remain? Or will we have to pay to sit in the sun?

“GAIL’s has become one of the UK’s most recognisable premium bakery brands”
I’ve never heard of them until now, Greggs is premium enough for me, I remember when we could get a sausage roll and change from a quid.
No one ‘has’ to pay to do anything. If when it’s open and they do charge for sitting outside, vote with your feet and go sit in the meeting circle by M&S instead, or bring a deckchair and sit on the top floor of the car park 😂

Obviously, if the seating changes from public to part of Gail’s, I will have to pay to do something that used to be free. I guess if you think Greggs is premium, your ‘advice’ can be safely ignored

Of all the comments you chose mine to reply to, ignoring would be to no comment at all, and your sense of humour or lack thereof is your problem not mine. It would seem you have an issue with me in particular of which I know no reason why, I was nearly making a joke which others got but you did not.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and this lovely weather.

You too. Tomorrow should be particularly sunny!

No it’s not that Greggs it’s far more pricey than Greggs

"most recognisable premium bakery brands"
Not much of a claim. I walked into one, saw a load of dried up food left out open to the Euston station elements, exclaimed "How much?!" and then left.
I recognise Gails as appalling value.

Oak court, I never knew that was what it's called. Ha.
Longjumping_Cut_4759@reddit
There was once an old beautiful IOK TREE in that court. The design of the courtyard surrounded it with concrete and lack of light. It eventually died. OAK COURT has never been the same since that Tree died.

Reading the signage this lunchtime, I see they are actually using the dead corpse of the old tree as part of the construction of the new Gales. They think that's what it would have wanted. Poor old tree.
Natural-Ai-App@reddit
The old oak tree actually drowned, the builders messed up the drainage .
Winston_Carbuncle@reddit
There was once? I'm not ancient thank you very much
rogeroutmal@reddit
It’s not. It’s called the new bit. I’ll die on that hill.
BiscuitBarrel179@reddit
I asked my 20 year old daughter to meet me in the new bit, she had no clue what I was on about :(
error_9873@reddit
Pah, that's not the new bit. A whole massive chunk of the Marks and Spencer end is the new bit. You're thinking of the new new bit. Marks and Spencers used to be a massive outdoor area with some trees.

I miss the days of going up city, when we were a town.
wasted_tictac@reddit
I mean I'll try it but the prices the website is showing is a definite yikes from me.
Reflex81@reddit
Aww.. No more upside down house ??
TomOnMars@reddit
Thank god… that thing was a disgrace to the tree that stood before it
Projiuk@reddit
It makes Pret look budget
Alarming-Produce4541@reddit
What exactly is 'craft baking'?
error_9873@reddit
Overpriced dough.
0balaam@reddit
Gail's is owned by private equity firm Bain Capital which invests in Israeli military tech.
perfugism@reddit
Well, otherwise there are barely any bakeries around in the UK, which is really a shame. Or at least not in the parts I've been. And I would not really count Gregg's as a bakery.
Man_Flu@reddit
This the Gails that got flagged the other day for having nearly 7 grams of salt in 1 sandwich?
Over your daily allowance of salt in 1 sandwich.
TacoVetSpy@reddit
To be fair, the have halved the price, halved the salt, and halved the sandwich.
rockandrollmark@reddit
No, this is the Gail’s that’s run by a Brexiteer who want to surpress wages, and which is owned by a private equity company that’s big into backing Israeli crypto tech companies.
rogeroutmal@reddit
Sounds delicious
Longjumping_Cut_4759@reddit
Where once a great mighty old OAK TREE stood a GAIL’s will appear. There are all over London and they’re pricey.
EponymousHoward@reddit
Gail's: venture capital-backed toss cosplaying at being artisanal.
rockandrollmark@reddit
PE backed. Even worse. Makes me sick in my mouth. Much like their salty sandwiches.
HwD83@reddit
Was hoping we might get some independent places but the rent is too much
EyeAware3519@reddit
We used to have a tree, now we have overpriced sandwiches. Wonderful!
Jayce1976@reddit
Greggs for pretentious wankers
Desperate-Letter2395@reddit
Ugh. Not what we needed.
RockRage--@reddit
Gail’s, overpriced crap? It won’t last long
