Palletize airline passengers.

Put airline passengers in pods, and then stack them on pallets. You can fit more people in the plane this way, and boarding/deplaning will go much more smoothly.

For maximum efficiency, you could have the plane fly an extended route, and group passengers by destination. When flying over a destination, open the rear ramp and kick out the appropriate pallets. This way you can service several destinations from a single flight.

I love that last idea, like the train cars that would disconnect at speed to pull into a station without slowing the whole train (only works for those routes where nobody needs to get on, obviously).

A crazy idea is well developed. I didn’t see OP say anything about how passengers would use the bathroom, get their meals, etc. OP didn’t describe how to drop passengers from the sky in a way that would be safe and not be a liability issue. These are not impossible problems to solve, OP just put no effort in here.

Thats why it’s a stupid idea. If it was actually pitched right it would still be a crazy idea but I could sit here going like “hmm, I see how that could really happen”
