First High-End PC Build, Any Red Flags Before I Order?

Hey everyone, after a lot of researching and changing parts around, I think I finally settled on this build and wanted some final opinions before ordering.
I live in Germany and I’m ordering through Alternate, where I select all the parts myself and they ship the PC prebuilt/assembled.
Current total:
- \~3069€ as individual components
- \~3131€ assembled by Alternate
Some current discounts I found:
- RTX 5080 PRIME OC EVO: 1499€ → 1199€
- Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB: 425€ → 374€
- be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W: 139€ → 96€
- MSI B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi: 259€ → 239€
Main use cases:
- Gaming (Valorant, WuWa, Subnautica, AAA games)
- Blender learning/rendering
- General long-term high-end use
What I care about most:
- Stability
- Good airflow
- Quiet operation
- Long-term reliability
- Avoiding overpriced “fake premium” parts
Current build:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D — 399€
- GPU: ASUS RTX 5080 PRIME OC EVO — 1199€
- Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 — 69€
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi — 239€
- RAM: G.Skill DDR5-6000 CL30 EXPO (2x16GB) — 419€
- SSD: Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB — 374€
- PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W — 96€
- Case: Phanteks XT Pro Ultra — 54€
A few notes:
- I intentionally stayed on air cooling because I value reliability/noise more than aesthetics.
- I originally planned a 5070 Ti TUF build, but found this 5080 PRIME for a surprisingly small price difference.
- I know the 9100 Pro is overkill, but it’s currently cheaper than some SN850X listings where I live.
- I also switched from Corsair RAM to G.Skill because the pricing made way more sense for basically the same specs.
- Not trying to make an RGB showcase build, just a really solid daily driver.
Main thing I’m wondering:
Does anything here look genuinely problematic or poorly balanced?
Especially interested in opinions about:
- RTX 5080 PRIME thermals/noise
- Overall balance of the build
- Whether you’d change anything WITHOUT massively increasing the price
Thanks.

What resolution will you be playing at? If it’s 1440p, I don’t know if the €530 price difference in Europe is worth it for a 5080 prime vs a 9070 XT prime. I have the prime 9070 XT paired with a 5900X, and it runs a lot better than I thought it would, even at 4K.
If you’re playing in 4K, then the 5080 might be worth the premium. I’ve always been team green and also have a 5080, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the 9070 XT so far.
Since you’re also in Europe, you know how big the price difference is between Nvidia and AMD right now, so definitely something to at least consider.

Same here. I guess the majority of posts here about hardware will end up being complaints, but I have nothing negative to say about the 9070 XT either other than not liking the AMD Adrenalin software as much as the NVIDIA software, but that has little to do with the card itself.

You’re all good with that build. The Tomahawk b850 received some badass numbers when tested against some x870e motherboards on Toms and Tech, so you should enjoy that. The other nerds are right about you maybe wanting more storage, but maybe you play a game forever and then delete it? Or maybe not. Either way, downloading doesn’t cost nearly as much as an ssd these days, so it’s a non issue. That’s a solid build you’ve got there. You should be proud of it.

Solid build!
Two comments from my end:
As you’ve already mentioned the 9100 Pro is overkill for gaming but can see some advantages in rendering. Although I own a 980 and a 990, and they are perfect for me, I’ve read mixed reviews for the real life performance of the 9100 (vs the WD black sn8100 or crucial T705) but it’s not based on personal experience.
Second comment is the assembly part: I personally wouldn’t pay for assembly as that’s part of the fun and I love building PCs. It also saves you 60 euros for either an upgrade to the motherboard (even though this one is solid) or something else. But it’s not much if you don’t want the hassle of building it yourself.

5080 is not worth it, 9070 xt is only 7% slower and FSR Redstone= DLSS according to TechPowerup

^ dont listen to this guy. 5080 is expensive these days but the best you can get without taking out a second mortgage. 5080 destroys the 9070xt and fsr sucks
BlastingStink@reddit
FSR4 doesn't suck and I have no clue why anyone actually says this. I genuinely do not think most of you could point out the difference between FSR4 and DLSS4.5 side to side in practice on your own.
What actually sucks is the support for FSR4.
Rand0mystic@reddit
It does not destroy 9070xt, it is 20% better but 80% more expensive, and while fsr 4.1 has its issues, overall it's pretty good now

I have the same CPU and Mobo combo and all is good.

All g bro, I might add some 4tb hdd for data hoarding (these things add up fast)
majorpickle01@reddit
I agree generally speaking, but it's not too hard usually to add an M2 or SSD if he's sprung for a half decent mobo. I think mine is some flavour of tomohawk and it's got plenty of upgrade room for that.

All good mate. I got 5080 Prime as well, i can't hear it while playing AAA games on ultra.
9okm@reddit
I don't see any issues.
