What if we all just buy shares in one corporation, and as the majority, voted against all the stuff we didn't like at the meetings? Rinse and repeat.

You'd have to buy enough to outweigh the existing investors.

In order to buy shares, you have to have someone willing to sell you shares. Many companies that go public the owners retain majority shares. So they will keep 51% of the shares and only sell 49%. This way it's not possible for you to buy all the shares.

It’s called a hostile takeover and there are ways to combat it, share dilution, issuing a buyback to jack up stock price etc.

Ah, too bad. They've got that wrapped up in a nice bow lol

There's nothing stopping you from doing this, provided you have the money. However, there's nothing to stop the people you bought the shares from from doing the same thing elsewhere in a way that undoes any good you can do.
It's not a bad idea. Just probably not an efficient way to get what you want.

Yeah, shame. Would've been easier than a general strike lol.

What if we just... participated in the stock market?
Wow, this sub is getting radical today!
bobzsmith@reddit
That's called activist investing, nothings stopping you
PikesPique@reddit
So, we'd make the current shareholders even richer so they could go take over another company and do terrible things, forcing us to buy them out again, rince and repeat?
Cutsdeep-@reddit
We'd lose all our money
Agitated-Ad2563@reddit
Sure. I'm happy to do it, just tell me the name of the company and provide the funds.
